- If you thought the Leaning Tower of Pisa was the only tilted building worth seeing, then you haven't heard of their rival, the Leaning Tower of Suurhusen. This peculiar church, constructed in the small village of Suurhusen in Germany, dates back to the 13th century and boasts a dramatic lean even more impressive than its counterparts. An engineering headache of epic proportions, the Leaning Tower of Suurhusen was handed a Guinness World Record for its impressive tilt. Although recently surpassed by the Leaning tower of Gau-Weinheim, it still holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s most tilted tower.

In delft the Old Church or Oude Kerk also tilts at a very noticable angle. Though not at 5 degrees I think.

Do you see a pattern between the three towers mentioned that might warrant a rethinking of that Guinness Book record concept?
It reminded me about tilted church in Ústí nad Labem/Aussig which is about 2 metres off because ww2 bombing.

There are a number of houses around the canal rings in Amsterdam that would give this tower a run for its money. Admittedly, my comment is a little off-topic as this video is about towers, not houses. It's an interesting video, nonetheless. Well done.

There are few leaning temples in India like Ratneshwar Mahadev temple in Varanasi and Huma temple. I am not sure about the angle of tilt though.

In Amsterdam theres the same problem, lots of wooden poles and a lowering water table.
Maybe the record will be overtaken in the future..

Nice to see some ostfriesland representation irl, its a beatiful land of green nothingness with nothing to do. Its got the biggest gynasium(highest school level ) in the whole region simply because everyone from the surrounding "cities" HAS to go there if they wanna go to one. Also we have the wattenmeer and lots of neesh coastl... villages? Town?
I do recommend a visit if you want some nice air.
But dont visit the islands. Too full of tourists

My favourite tilted tower is one in Ząbkowice, Poland, while not nearly as croocked as this one it is iconic because the top of the tower was built after the tilt happened resulting in a very noticable bent:
