Got one for Christmas when I was a kid in 1982. Solidly built - but only weakness was the headphone jack that I had to resolder into place a few times. Got quite a few years out of it.
Awesome, this comment is a bit late, but does this player have a built-in speaker to play audio without headphones hooked up? Or is it reliant on headphones for audio output?

There was no built in speaker on this unit. I have seen some with a built in speaker though, so they are out there!
