Liu YuNing is my favorite entertainer and he’s doing awesome in dramas too. I absolutely loved The Story of Pearl Girl. I watched it because of LYN and was so happy that most of the cast did really well. It was a beautiful and heartwarming drama to watch
I liked it too, despite the ending could be confusing for those who lament he "had to" but did not 'die on screen' again (gasp). My theory was he 1/ was not abducted by aliens as he quipped he would be 2/prepared their get away after the Jewelry exhibition where Duanwu turned down the post she was offered, and they went away with caravans to explore the world together, maybe find a cure... perhaps opening to a season 2, as LYN also mentioned in a live stream. It's a pity it was suddenly targeted by organized hate, fearful perhaps of its competition with LGiEF or plain hating either or both leads. LYN and Zhao Lusi were both saddened by some ad hominem reactions. But she is busy with other projects so will not linger on that ; the drama already garnered praise from many celebs and star friends online, had the fastest rise in heat index of the year, and is doing well abroad too, with Netflix having put it into catalogue. Presently watching the other 'Tang dynasty cultural relics' drama (Brocade Odyssey) which is okay in its genre, less ambitious, more expected, although also not true to base novel. There is an AI faced actor although I would not have been aware of it if it had not been commented about: it's been well done and actors were chosen for their physical similarity so it is not obtrusive. I thought Tan Songyun looked a little pale and wan in the beginning, but it gets better along the way, despite it snails along at one episode a day (there are 40 and we are barely reaching 15 now).

I watched it because of LYN and was so happy that most of the cast did really well. It was a beautiful and heartwarming drama to watch . Liu YuNing also said that when given a script he’s only given the first 5-10 scenes and he has no idea what the rest of the script will look like. So the decision to take the role is based off of the first few scenes. Either way , I love that LYN is such a nice person yet stands up to the bullies .
I really like Liu Yuning and I don't hate anything I have watched with him in it yet. I enjoyed Pearl Girl but did come away thinking it wasn't one that I would re-watch in a hurry because of the plot flow and editing.
I love Liu Yuning, But SOTPG was truly pain .... I enjoyed Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, I had watched Esther in Youth and was fascinated by her character then and now its building. Truly awesome. Im excited of Feng Shaofeng's new drama. I love mellow. that would be in my watch list. Sadly I don't know why ... I get bored by William Chen ... His acting is truly MEH. I have to truly check his new drama, Hope that will wake me up. But I doubt. Yang Zi and Elvis just made me envious.... OMG.... What a hot pair.
Dont know if you watched Love game in Eastern fantasy but its very enjoyable ! Its different from political and business stories. Ding Yuxi very attractive too.
Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang have made 2024 their blissful "long honeymoon" year from fairy tale proposal set to flashing their marriage license 🤭🥰💞 He HAD said he'd get married in 2024 and everyone knew about the open secret chosen one for the past four years or more, so he's a steady one and does make good on promises : congrats to the happy couple.
Zhao Jinmai always the writers perfect choice& beating other actresses to perform the drama with romantic romance written by popular writer like You are my Glory & love O2O, she perfectly deliver her roles in any dramas. Congratulations Jinmai the It’s choice in modern drama
Watching four episodes of Married. The controlling ML is kind of like Tale of Rose, except instead of Lin Gengxin, it’s Feng Shao Feng…. Won’t say too much as it’s spoilers, but they kinda have similar vibes and story so far. I enjoyed and finished See Her again, and it was nice to see William Chan as a retro HK cop in 1990s.
@florfred1786 I would never put up with a bs controlling guy like that in real life. 😤 I'm sure it will be satisfying to see her get her revenge and freedom. In dramaland in general, I'm noticing the themes of girl power, woman should support other women (even the cheaters, ie- Fry me to the Moon), you can have your career and kids and have it all theme (but of course that power CEO woman can't cook or clean at home trope, enter new younger man who can cook and do domestic chores).
Later I Laughed is my favourite at the moment. I am rarely watching modern dramas but this one is unexpectedly good because of writing, acting, 👍 for developing romance story, characters fighting with dilemma between financiall security in the system where money makes the world turn around or live your life as you like. I have 3 last ep to watch but until now worth watching. For costume dramas I am watching short ones at the moment, Painted skin looking forward. Definitely checking Ding Yuxi drama, he always has interesting drama. Thank you!
I had hopes that it would be a good drama, but in the end it was disappointing, but it's not the actors' fault, but the writers' fault, so it's difficult to watch Chinese dramas
I enjoyed See Her Again. It is quite suspenseful, and the last episode was unexpected at the beginning of the episode. I highly recommend it, and the pace is good. I just finished watching Deep Lurk with Cheng Yi; it was good. I am watching Married right now and enjoying it so far. The first time I saw Feng Shao Feng play a bad guy. I am also watching B&W Forest; it has a good pace so far with Ryan Ding. Did you watch TSOPG? I liked ZLS acting in it but I did not like the plot or her on-screen chemistry in this drama.
The romance wasn't really given a chance. It was mostly about struggles and the female leads journey as the storyline. They had great chemistry on The long ballad since it was well written on the built up romance part. This drama failed big time on the romance that's why the chemistry didn't reach its potential for me that's how I felt. The relationship started out of nowhere. I blame the writer.
If an actor just goes to the set and do what the director or scriptwriter tells him/her to do, and has no interest in what the final product looks like, eventually the actor is the one who suffers as the audience does not know the scriptwriter, only knows that the actor starred in a garbage series. When the actor is in a new series, the audience might not even bother to see it.
Yuning sweets me. He is a straight forward man, letting all his nay-sayers know where to step off. 🌸💃🏽
Indeed Liu Luning said the exact response . I Love both zhao Lusi and Him❤looking forward they could be a real couple they matched so well

controlling ML like in The Tale of Rose is a trend : there is one like that too in Our Days recently.

Haha so many good ones airing right now I don’t know where to start but maybe one of the suspense ones sounds like a good change for me
