I have friends in the U.K. and they have told me that it takes over a week to get the shipping notification and up to 4 weeks for the package to arrive depending on how backed up the packages are. It’s taken up to 3 weeks for me to receive my packages but I’m not in a rush to get anything, the additional taxes for California purchases annoys me though. They charge a “special” tax, a New York State tax, a New York City tax, and a California State tax 😓
Sweetie, I FEEL you with the puppy struggles. The next 3 months are going to be the hardest of your life but totally worth it! A few pieces of advice before it gets worse or becomes habit. The pup is still young and learning a new environment, but puppy anxiety can morph into full on separation anxiety if you let it. Right now the puppy is 'learning' what behaviors get a reward ( crying gets playtime from mommy, that means I have to whine to let mommy know I want to play) so make sure you are providing as much feedback as possible. 1) CRATE TRAIN. it is not cruel, it is creating a safe, happy place for the puppy. Especially when the puppy is young, make a comfortable space in their crate ( dog bed, fluffy toy, chew toy, etc. and leave them in there when they are not going to the bathroom, eating, or playing with you. IT seems like a lot, but their time in the crate will decrease over time. Think of it as a bedroom for a human baby. Start off with the crate in the same room as you and once they are comfortable practice with it being in another room where they can hear you but not see you. For my pup I used an old children's play pen so my roommate didn't complain about jailing the dog. 2) Get the pup used to you ignoring them. Just because they are up, does not mean you give full attention. Get them used to the idea of you being around, but out of sight or not focused on them ( crate helps with this). That does not mean ignore all the time, but YOU need to set the play time not the pup or else they will think that is their responsibility and will get confused when you get frustrated and ignore them. 3) Make sure they are safe, have everything they need, and have gone to the bathroom and LEAVE THEM BY THEMSELF. doesn't have to be for long, just enough for them to get comfortable in their space and on their own. You can build up the time as they get older and get more comfortable. They will whine at first, but unless you are concerned for their level of distress, leave then alone. and remember to celebrate and reward them once they settle down and stay settled for a little bit. (reward good behavior, not to try and get them to stop bad behavior) 4) Leave your space ( if you can). Once the pup is comfortable in the space and you feel good about the other 3 steps, leave the space so the pup cannot hear you. Start small here too and build up. Maybe start by checking your phone outside or taking a quick walk around the block then build up to grocery store trips and errands. Now is a great time to get a puppy trained, but you have to think of post- plague life. BEST OF LUCK! YOU WILL DO GREAT!!!
I feel this so hard. I stopped trying to crate train my puppy after a few weeks and let her sleep with me. She was so attached to me for the longest time, but, since having a job that I haven’t been able to bring her to (she is a service animal but my doctor was a bit overwhelmed with work and was super behind on filling out forms for employers) and dropping her off for playdates with other dogs shes gotten so much more comfortable with me leaving and, although she likes to lay with me until I fall asleep and come wake me up in the morning, she wants to sleep wherever her bed is instead of wherever I am. So if I have to leave her, she’ll whine and worry for a bit, but then she just lays in her bed and plays with her toys while im gone
Hey, fellow dog person here!😃 If she's crying in the pan and you pick her up to stop it, she'll learn that if she cries she gets what she wants, wich is getting out to be with you and you paying attention to her. So next time she cries, ignore her till she settles by herself even if it's only a few seconds, and then say "settle" or something like that and praise her calmly. Oh my gosh I so relate to the puppy exhaustion - we got a puppy 4 months ago, and I swear I didn't sleep more than 2 hours a time for weeks. They're you're entire focus, even when they're sleeping it's hard to do anything except rest yourself. And I'm taking online classes! Lucky they're cute lol

How are you, in the UK, getting your Colourpop orders in 10-14 days? I'm in Iceland and it takes on average 3-4 weeks to get to me 😟 Last time I ordered, during the Labor day sale, it took 6 weeks to arrive!
Don’t be afraid to leave your puppy alone for a few hours, crated ofc. :) If you take your puppy absolutely everywhere and are constantly around, when it does come to not having a choice and having to leave her alone she might develop separation anxiety.

Our puppy cried so much we gave up on his kennel and just tied his leash to my nightstand. Now he's a big boy and sleeps on his own😭
