The first time I ever heard this song was early November of 2022. I was getting my haircut downtown in this old salon and this song started playing on their radio. That was the first song I ever heard by Mac Demarco. I wish I could go back and hear it for the first time again

this really brings you back to the summer of 2014, back when life was good.
And then Robin Williams took his life in August 2014😢, after that life just kind of went downhill. That, to me, was the beginning of everything going downhill in my life over the last 10 years, and then my grandma was in the hospital less than a week later, her health declined after that before she passed on in April 2015. She was 94. Two years later, my uncle died the day after my dad turned 66. I miss them both. I hadn't dated anybody for years, and I'm 47 now.

The main difference vocal pitch - this is Mac’s normal voice, notice the original is pitched up to get that Lennon falsetto. Not much else has changed Mac records and commits onto tape there are very little post processing effects. only differences I hear is it’s not properly mixed or mastered otherwise identical to the mix/mastered version minus the pitch. 🎉
