Hi I am a new subscriber and I would like to make this shrug but it looks different than the white one you pictured in the peacock tank top video at the end of that video. I like the way the white one is made with the added edging and it does look different compared to the red one here. They are not exact. Thank you.

Hi Emi, I'm making this pattern in a large, I am at the instructions #3 where I double crochet across with 2 double crochet in every 10th stitch. after I get to the last 2 double crochets and then double crochet to the end will I do 2 more dc in the very end stitch? thank you so much
+Patricia Rogers Hi Patricia... no, when it's the last stitch, don't make 2 dc in the end stitch, as it will result in a bumpy front edge.

mimi smith Hi Jan! I used 1 skein of 198 grams for the one in the demo. For all other sizes, 2 skeins of 198 grams should be sufficient.

Hi Emi,, i purchased your pattern. and making an Large size. my question is on row 13, can you tell me about how many chain 5 loops to have in that row? I think I do not have enough loops. as it is not meeting close in the front even after I have done the DC around each side and made the pico edge. Any help would be appreciated on this.. i just love this and it works up fast so I dont mind taking it apart to row 13 and starting over. thank you!!! Jan/ mimi smith
+mimi smith Hi Jan! For size large, after row 13 is completed, you should have 6 loops across the row. If that is not roomy enough, skip every 2 stitches instead of 3, and you will have 8 loops, but for more ease, skip every 2nd stitch, and you will have 12 loops across the row.
I have done this pattern twice now and keep running into the same issue of 27 loops and one space left. How many double crochets are there supposed to be in the two rows before the first row of loops?

For size Large, the pattern says to do step 6 then 7. Step 8 says REPEAT steps 6 & 7 two times. I understood that to mean two MORE times, so it would be 6-7, 6,-7, 6-7, then Step 9. Am I misunderstanding this? Or does step 8 mean to COMPLETE 6 & 7 two times TOTAL? I'm really enjoying this pattern! The shrug is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it!! You are SO talented!!!!

+Barbara Melton Hi Barbara... yes, my profession is as a designer, so I sometimes do a demo for one size for free.. sometimes I offer all the sizes for a pattern for free... but when a pattern takes as long as this one (over 3 weeks of working to get all the calculations correct, and testing, testing, testing,), I need to charge for the pattern containing all the sizes.

Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking Hmmmm... ok... found it. They made it in a rather complicated fashion: making one armhole, then 1/2 of the back as the left back side, and an identical piece as the back right side, and single crocheted the 2 pieces together in the center back.
The front is pretty much a scarf on each side.
An easier method would simply have been to make a very long scarf, and used the openings between the chain 20 spaces as armholes, thereby making it one size fits all, from small to XL. Did that many any sense at all to you?

-turn, then chain 20. then sc,
_ turn and keep going as long as I want
I think that's how you would do it...
and us wholes as armholes... :)
