    My Dad was born in Canada , worked in a mill , lost his left thumb on a shingle maker , years later he moved to the U S Pennsylvania , employed to Cameran's what is Kings Gap , Mansion , spent , 30 years as electrician for Bethlehem Steel Pa . Died 1966 Aug

    Note how all that wood from this video segment was wasted into roof shingles until the 1950's while europe was already using tiles and slate which are far more durable and therefore environmentally responsible.

      Given the age of each country it looks like America learned faster than Europe. USA! USA! USA!
