2003 Nissan Maxima is not 2nd Generation but 5th Generation. 2nd generation is 1983-1988. Third generation is 1989-1994. Fourth generation is 1995-1999. Fifth generation is 2000-2003. 6th generation is Nissan Altima with a V6 engine and badged as a Nissan Maxima.
We are aware that the vehicle is 5.5 gen. We are referring to the engine.
That right
it is what it is
😎
What about the blue cams sensors??
Nice work!I have a question, will 2gen vq fit with 5speed aisin automatic transmission
not a question I can answer, but I would suggest joining the 2nd Gen Swap group on Facebook and asking there!
Wish i could ship mine to ya 😢
Very detail. Where are you in Florida?
thanks... Brevard county
With the swap do you need to use the upper and lower oil pans from the older DE? Or just the lower?
I have a 03 max id like the motor rebuild or fixed, where are you located? Seriously need help!
Hello, my buddy's shop is in Central FL
Don’t ever paint an engine gloss black! You’ll struggle to see any oil leak!
What size bolts did you use for the engine to bolt to stand
M12x1.75, 90mm long or about 3.5 inches
@@ImChrisDuke thanks brother I appreciate it
Tips for my 01 i30t ? Do I have to drop tranny
I am assuming same or very similar to the Max
Hey bro I’m doing a 2nd gen VQ swap do I use the windage tray from the 1st gen with the 1st gen pan or do I not use it at all with the first gen pan
use the 1st gen
@@ImChrisDuke ok so I do use the 1st gen windage tray with the 1st gen oil pan ? I’m just trying to be clear I put it on and it looks like it has clearance issues
If I choose not to use the windage tray will it negatively effect anything if I take it off
@@TheMadHatter513 that I'm not sure of. Are you a member is the Nisformance 2nd Gen Swap Info Facebook group? May want to ask there and see what they say.
@@ImChrisDuke I deleted my fb cuz they keep putting me in fb jail
Can this be done on a 7th gen
Curious what size fuel pump as I am doing this swap on my b15 sentra, thanks

Where is this shop located?

The duralast thermostat is piece of sh* . I ended up buying the Nissan one for $5 more. Had to order it though.
He likes the lifetime warranty it has
@@ImChrisDuke Yeah, but having to swap it out is a pain in the ass. The guy tried to give me another one, but I wasn't going to deal with that anymore and went to Nissan you got one that's not going to fail. My eighteen-year-old thermostat Shoulda just stayed in, but I thought I was smarter to replace it with a Napa one the first time that eventually failed, making the job even harder because their gasket stuck to the mating surface. Ugh.
