When we were kids in the late 70's we would go shrimping at Rye Harbour with our dad. One time we got 8 gallons of shrimps and we took them home. They were cooked in our kitchen in sea salted boiling water and then cooled on tea towels. Me and my sister would go door to door selling them for 50p a pint.. In those days there were plenty about along with a few prawns too along with the odd weaver fish. I knew Jimper ,he was one of the local characters. The good ole days.
Good old Jimper. New the family well on beach road. I bought my first motorbike of Hugh. Used to go hay making etc. I lived up in the town Winchelsea 🧙♂on the hill.
Miss him every minute of the day and night xxx
Thanks for uploading a cracking little film, they don’t make em like jimper anymore.
One of the characters of Pett level and Winchelsea.
Had the honour of knowing this man, and was a classmate of his younger brother Hugh !
