  • As the 2019 MLB Trade Deadline neared, former Cleveland Indians P Trevor Bauer was the talk of the baseball world. Every day, there was a new rumor, a new city, a new team, and a new trade that was supposed to be a "done deal." Then, on July 30th, it all became a reality. In a dizzying three-team trade, Bauer was sent to his new team, the Cincinnati Reds. In a flurry of emotions and movement, Bauer had us follow him every step of the way to show just what it's like being THE blockbuster trade in the middle of a competitive season. This is -- Traded: A Documentary.

As a Yankees fan this is very touching. I hated Bauer in the 2017 ALDS but over the last 2 years of following him on Twitter and Instagram, he's such a unique player. Moneyball painted a pretty good picture of how it looks when players get traded, but this video captures it from the players perspective. Once you step off that mound, you're back to being a regular person. Flying on a plane with regular people, taking the subway. It's not all fancy jets and cars like people think. Walking into the new stadium clueless, like a freshman in high school. Almost moved me to tears. I wish the best for Bauer for the remainder of this season and his career.

The only game I saw Bauer pitch was his first career and only CG shutout for the Indians. Dominant effort, though against a struggling team, he controlled the game throughout. It was a pretty scorecard to say the least. Though slightly rain soaked, Trevor registered 5 perfect innings, ZERO walks, and only 4 hits allowed; once stranding a lead off triple no-less. What a game.

This is a GREAT look into a player of his status and caliber, and how they go through their first major mid-season trade. You could clearly tell his passion and love for the Indians, fans and the city. It’s what makes it hard in this part of the business but it also makes you appreciate the person more from what they may not openly show on the field. @@Jake-rc4ws You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. 2018 was Trev's breakout season. Prior to 2018, he was up and down. One start he looked like a CY candidate and the next he looked like an AA spot starter. His biggest flaw has been his lack of consistency. His stuff still appears to be there this season but like a lot of pitchers this year his home runs given up have shot back up and is now at a career high.

Imagine having a shit game, and having to step on the home mound of thousands of badgering assholes. It’s bullying, like he says with Scooter Gennett. The sport needs more, and more videos like this one. Trevor Bauer seems like one of the guys who could lead the sport with his vivacious personality and blunt demeanor. The MLB is behind the NFL and NBA, largely because the sport doesn't market its players (and neither do the players themselves for the most part). If they want to build the game the personalities need to be showcased more and guys like Bauer could lead the charge.

I wish you would have came to the Rangers on trade! Absolutely love this guy!! One of my favorite players and I dont know the first thing about pitching; I was a corner infielder. You're an awesome man Trev! Do your thing brother!!

Trevor Bauer seems like a really good dude. Has frustrations just like any of us. I would never hold something like throwing a baseball over the centefield wall against him in the grand scheme of life. There are just way too many other things in life that matter. I wish him and his family the very best always and more positive vibes in the future.

With the Reds so far he's 1-4 and his ERA has risen 5 points. Meanwhile, my Indians got a rental and a solid DH for years to come and a couple pitching prospects.

As a Reds fan, I've been a little disappointed with the 8.23 ERA 7 games in. I've got a new appreciate for him. It's good to see players on such a human level. He seems like a good, genuine person. He's got the right attitude - he'll find his sea legs.

Cleveland Indians fan here, was always in his corner during his time here. We did get 5 players for him, although Puig won't sign here after this year. Reyes is only 24, but has many holes in his swing. The other 3 players it's a crap shoot. I still believe in Bauer that he has better years to come, even a no/no in him. Wish him all the best, really sorry to see him go. Thanks for the video Trevor!!

I love baseball. But damn Baseball really can make a person feel bad. I know its just business.. but the mans been with the team for a long time.. then in a few bad games. Hes packing up and moving. Id definitely be grateful to still be doing what I love and dreamed of doing.

It’s easy as fans to forget that players are human beings with emotions like everyone else. When a guy gets traded, it’s a huge change in a very short period of time. Imagine if you worked for UA-cam and you walk in to the office one day and your boss says you’ve been traded to Facebook and oh, by the way you’ve been traded to their campus 500 miles away. You are expected to report there tomorrow. Now I realize the players are highly paid but still, that’s a major disruption in your life. Minor leaguers get traded all the time too and they make a fraction of what a guy like Bauer makes. It gets even more complicated for the players that have a wife or a gf they live with, and a lot have kids too.

I was vacationing in Toronto in July, and I got to see Trevor pitch. He finished 8 innings, 3 hits, no runs. The closer came in the 9th, and blew a 1-0 lead. The Indians ended up losing in the 9th to the Bluejays. IMHO: Cleveland's loss.
