For anyone considering these, there are many more features than Gavin showed. Those were the very basics. For instance, you can connect up to 4 cameras to 1 receiver, can connect to the video feed on more than 1 screen at a time, can record PIP with target/shooter (with audio), can replay the shot string in sequence, and can change color markers for multiple shooters so you can use the same target but know who's shots were who's (or different ammo/rifles for same shooter). Maybe more features than that, but that's what I remember off the top of my head. Hopefully he will do a follow up video to actually demonstrate all it has to offer, especially when it costs what it does.

@@1newme425 Yes there are a lot of features on the app. Another feature for instance is the picture angle adjustment. If your camera is looking at the target from a angle (most likely is) you can skew/correct the on-screen display to give you a more straight on view of the target. Pretty handy. Also should be clarified that you do not need any cell service or subscription to use it. It has it's own built in wi-fi network (which he mentioned). It works anywhere. The 2-mile range (max) is what really sets this apart from other camera systems on the market. You must have line of sight between units at all times though. You can purchase a separate wired transmitter to connect to the camera unit if you have obstructions like a hill in the way. You can put it on a tall tripod away from the camera to get line of site transission to the receiver. (If that makes sense). FWIW, there IS a delay for impact reports when you get to farther distances. It is not always instant feedback like this video showed. Another consideration is the system works with both android or apple OS's but the app was optimized for android. I've had mine 2 years and don't own any apple products so I don't know if that has changed since then. Just worth a mention.

As you have probably noticed, I’ve been using this system for two years.
I’ve shipped it back and forth as is with just a shipping label taped to it and it’s traveled from WA to NC and TX and back to WA with no issues - multiple times.
Battery life is excellent so I set it out in the AM and bring it in after sunset. Battery has never been an issue.
The biggest problem is FPS which in practical use is about 5-10 fps and latency can be a few seconds when using the extender (which is needed starting at 400 yards).
It has let me down by freezing up a few times but about 85% of the time it works great - way better than the Caldwell system. Resolution is acceptable too.
I like it a lot - I just wish it had a faster processor and 100% reliability. That said, I don’t distance shoot without it.
FYI they are based in Pearland, TX where my brother lives.

You can also record yourself at the shooting position at the same time and it puts it PIP in the corner, that way you can see and hear yourself as you are shooting as the remote cameras do not have a microphone on them.

I did a couple videos with mine. 600 and 1000 yards on a steel milk jug. There is some delay at times. I ended up buying 2 tablets after testing the unit on different operating systems. Mine worked best with the Android 9.0 system. It didn't like 8.0 or the 10.0. I emailed Jason at Longshot and he tried to help figure out the problem. I even sent it to them for testing. Brand of tablet may make a difference. 9.0 is working with mine.

I can always count on you and your channel to have the information I need to look up how to make something work correctly after I buy it. You always have a wealth of information to share with us when we need it, and today was not any different as my Longshot LR-3 System just delivered and I set it up according to the instructions included. I figured that watching your video would top everything off before I head out to the farm and set up my targets. My only worry about that is shooting the camera unit itself at long distance. It won’t take much at a mile plus for the bullet to drift off target and hit the unit. What would have been better is if the camera unit had a detachable antenna you could put off well to one side so you could then put the camera behind some hard cover as I assume you need direct line of sight from the transmitter to receiver

    • @tyler6147

Send this unit to “Mark and Sam Afterwork” ! These two are by far the most capable and reliable when it comes to ELR and ULR shooting. If they give the green light, then the company can expect my order immediately. Mark thinks a lot like me . Looking for failure points , then redesigning or tinkering with a fix to hold up to actual field use.
