In the traditional teachings the Holy People have their favorite. Their children. The five-fingered being. The humankind.
Everything was made for them. Everything shows gratitude to the Holy People. But it seems the creation that has the most difficult time showing gratitude is the Five-Fingered being.
In this video... Navajo Historian Wally Brown shares the traditional teachings around gratitude and the importance of it.

My mother, whom was Hispanic Apache/Navajo, used to say, "always gives thanks for everything in this life. Life itself is a gift and should be treated as such, same as the ground you walk on and the food you eat. Always be thankful for life itself is a rarity on this planet." Thanks Mom, I miss you.🥰🥰😥

Is life a rarity though...? Consciousness itself is infinite, and every life form ties into consciousness, and it's own universe. Reincarnation is a thing too, the Ouroboros. Death is said to be an illusion.

I understand to be thankful for things but is life really a gift? Some people are born horribly deformed and I've seen handicap people that don't even know they exist. If life is a gift it should be equal for everyone when there born.

Many old masters teach that those who are suffering deformity or depravity or even those who are extremely bad are all there for us to respond to and we grow in that way. Apparently we human beings need to experience pain and suffering and loss etc. in order to experience growth toward the fullness that we will be one day.

The one thing I remember is when you hunt, and kill your game. Take the time to cut out the heart and bury it in the ground and then give thanks to our brother who gave his life, not by his choice but for the people.
Bury His heart and say thanks for his sacrifice!

And He showed me a Father who was fixing the plumbing of a sink and his young child stood by with a screwdriver waiting to give it to his Father when he told him. And the Father did not need for the child to help him but it was a great joy to him to have his small child with him and to teach the small child. And it was a great joy to the child to be near his Father to help him and participate.

Some get lost in the day to day activities and take for granted the things they have around them and lose the idea of what has value and what does not . Suddenly when those things are gone then the we realize what we had and did not take notice of it when we did have it . Some things will not always be and fall away but the things that are necessary for life , not a game boy or that big screen TV , are the things of value and giving thanks for those things daily and realize they are gifts keep the spirit whole and brighten the eyes. Respect for the ground and the trees and all the creatures that crawl on the earth , the place we call home , is most needed . Some are guiding this world into deeper and deeper peril but we do not have to be caught up in the steam it offers . I am not Navajo but I am Cherokee and the teachings of these things are the same throughout the nations . This elder who speaks in this video spreads the ideas that are needed for life . The tribes arent a monolith like no humans are, despite what well-meaning fools like to think. They'll pander saying "natives were peaceful!" when none of the tribes were the same in every aspect. The Dine have been in touch with our Creator for a long time and thank God held onto it for the most part. Very few other groups in humanity were so tapped into the Truth.
You know its true because certain specific groups throughout history came to the sqme conclusions and same claims, while never having met.

There are those who claim to possess the truth, so they never speak it, then there are those who seek it ( everywhere they go.) , so they speak to it, hoping the truth speaks back.
Uncle Wally, everything you say, rings a bell in me.
    Be blessed.

My mother was scared by me. She noticed that I was taking part of my night meal outside. 1 evening she followed me and saw I was feeding a mother coyote. She said that is wild animal. Not to do that. I felt bad because she had babies to take care of. At that time I was about 9. Later I went on to train horses.

I was seeing that each of us can walk in peace and gratitude and keep that vision that you describe.🌈🌈🌈

Emotional, mental protection. If he was my grandfather, he would be an example of trauma. How does humanity as a community help each other to not allow ourselves to be poisoned by dealing with trauma? And then to not inflict it on others.

It is easy to have appreciation during ceremony or during harvest and not when we are down. Perhaps there are many that are so depressed and numb /closed off they don’t feel the gratitude or are not inspired in this direction or could never have learned what that truly means . Children are often taught they must earn a parents love or food and shelter by acting grateful so they never get to develop authentic gratitude. This is unintentional of course and multi generational. I feel it is possible to stop the cycle and heal your ancestors if you are successful. The realization of a worthy goal is needed and is key.

Thank you. For your wisdom. I believe it to be valuable information. And your native ancestors. We're connected and had a relationship with the natural world. Allowing them to observe a world Touched by God and not destroyed by man kind. Experiential knowledge and wisdom of balance and harmony. Only obtained through a connection with the natural world. Valuable information ! For it is said man got kicked out of Eden. Because we have disconnected ourselves from the natural world. And broken our relationship to god and the world that this grand creator gifted to us. Thank you. The wisdom you pass down is. valuable and holy. For it was only obtained through building a life long connection and relationship. With a natural world Touched by god not destroyed by mankind.

( you will never find this documentary. ) the debate was , sweat lodge or both, the peyote was a factor to prevent brain failure.
