  • Spyra LX Water Gun Review - Everything you need to know about the SPYRA LX
    In this video, i compare the brand new Spyra LX, with the predecessor, The Spyra Two.
    You might be thinking "i have the Spyra two and i'd love one that doesn't need to charge. Especially as electrical appliances never last as long as non electrical ones. Let's be honest. Spyra is amazing and its worth knowing we can show our grandkids one day.
    You'll be mistaken into thinking it performs exactly as the Spyra Two does. The price difference does match the realistic expectations. It's not a Spyra two. But it is a GREAT water gun.
    The marketing that it's the worlds strongest watergun is a bit of a stretch as it doesnt even come close to Some of the original supersoaker CPS systems. But its definitely one to buy!

    Personally id get a spyra lx I don’t think water guns should ever have electronics but if you really want a basic spyra get one the spyra lx I think is better because it’s pump action which is perfect for a water gun and has a much more affordable range

    • @squirts1
      @squirts1 Рік тому +2

      It's not pump action. The "pump" only fills the tank. That long stiff trigger pull is doing the work. The trigger pull is likely 15+lb pull force, which will get tiresome pretty quick, which is why they made it to fit 2 fingers.
      There's nothing wrong with battery powered water blasters. You're talking about very low DC voltage here, like 6v-9v. It's not like you're going to electrify a pool with it... The electronics are sealed off anyway.
      That being said, I would also get the lx if I wanted a spyra but only because it's half the price.

      Question; Do you know what actually propels the water forward by any chance? Is it a second reason for the pumping, or some other mechanism?

      @@squirts1 I’d be more concerned with failure. Think the electronics are gonna last 5 years + with a combination of plastic, electronics, and lots and lots of water? Maybe. Maybe not…

    • @squirts1
      @squirts1 Рік тому +1

      @@rxw5520 they should last fine... I've got 20 year old electric super soakers that work fine. It's really not that difficult to keep water out of the sensitive bits. Especially with hydrophobic coatings now.

    My wife and I are seniors. She is an avid gardener and loves to feed the smaller birds (finches, etc). Problem is with squirrels, various black birds (nasty creatures that mob some of the feeders), and doves that are annoying at the best of time--can you say coooo a thousand times a day. Bless her heart but she is doing her best to discourage the undesired with a whimpey toy pump-action water gun. Back yard is about 40 feet by 40 feet. I've been planning on getting her the Spyra Two, although with some concern that the power behind the shots might be too strong in the approximate 20 - 25 foot range (don't want to hurt the uninvited, just send them on their way and make them think twice about returning). While the new LX seems reasonable, my wife has some arthritis in her hands so the manual fill and apparent heavier trigger load may be difficult for her. I did ask Spyra if they did any testing in deterring pests, but they had not done so, essentially indicating only that the toys are designed for people vs people, which is fair. Anyway, appreciate any opinion you may be willing to share that would help in my choice.

      Id say the spyra two would do it. But would likely be overkill to shoot at them directly. Maybe shoot just past them would scare them enough.

    Returned it on amazon.
    I didnt want to justify $150 when it stopped working.

    No electronics seems like the way to go for this. I’d like to see how the spyra 2 does after a few years. I wouldn’t want to spend double to then have it get left out or dropped and die after a couple years.

    Just a slight correction: The Spyra LX is meant to be a alternative to 2, not its successor.

    I recently bought the spyra lx but straight out of the box it leaks water from the circle hole which is located at the bottom where you put your second hand to support the gun. Is it normal ?

    • @attentionaddicts
      @attentionaddicts Рік тому +7

      Hi, according to another review I saw - it "leaks" because you're dunking the end too far into the water when filling. This causes water to enter the gun housing which leaks out later.
      Try only putting the very end in when filling: this is mentioned in the manual.
