How is the sikaflex holding up on pvc? You can also try pulling silicon and cutting with a razor, then on metal you can use a wire wheel on a drill but you can't on frp
So far its still perfect. The only issue that is not really a problem is the exes sica that is exposed to the elements is sticky. I should have cleaned it better. But slowly it is being cleaned by sand and water etc. The joints are still super strong.
I've used other glues where the tube come away at rear letting water in and really not very strong. Would you use this product everywhere opposed to the 2 part stuff? Thanks
I wonder if you heat the blade up a little with a propane torch if the putty knife would cut through the Sikaflex easier. I don't know just a thought. But hey, Sikaflex is PVC based and the zodiac is made of PVC so it should work very well, I don't think you'll have any problems with it.
Heating the blade might be a good idea to bad i already removed all of it lol. I did not know sika was pvc based. Cool lets hope it works well then. Cheers
Really looking forward to the result. I also hate the contact glue process… and I have a rib to fix! 😅
Still holding up fine, one year on. No leaks and no signs of the sika letting go. Will never use contact cement ever again. Hope this helps
@@reversingentropy sure does, thanks!

How did the glue hold up?
So far so good. But it's still early in the season. Will make a video update when the dinghy has some more NM on it. Cheers

@@scottcraig7609 I would use it everywhere that's not exposed to uv light. For the dinghy seams it's perfect because the seam protects from the sun

So far so good . I'll make a video in a few months. Cheers
Thanks👍
Let's see the update and finished product video!
I think if holds good and strong than it's the right stuff to use.
Thank you, i will do an update on it. Cheers
Try a multi tool with scraping attachment. Much less work than the hand scraper
Good ideia, Next time. Cheers
