One of my all time favourite game franchises. I've personally always found the PC to be the best environment for these games. Armageddon, Worms World Party and Worms 4 Mayhem are probably my favorites

Thank you for covering the Worms games. In my top ten for sure. :-)

I'm pretty sure most of the Worms games are on consoles. The only ones that are not on console that I can think of are Worms: The Director's Cut and Worms 2
5:56 That's either the DOS or PS1 version, Amiga also had to deal with white names and memorizing worm names

Just picked up this cart yesterday and running through the games quickly I was less than impressed. However taking a little more time on each really changed my view. There may only be three games but they are all (in my view) significant and really enjoyable, I do agree that Armageddon is by far the best. I’m also curious what the capacity of Evercade carts is and how much of that space a PS1 game takes up? Most places other than Funstock seems to be charging £17.99 or higher here in the UK, I’m still curious why.
Thanks for the great coverage, me and the kids are hooked on watching these and have gone through everyone of the Evercade videos.

Interesting. Though if they release a volume 2 of this collection, they'll most likely wait until they can support computer platforms like the Amiga, C64 and Atari ST. They've already announced that they're working on arcade collections, which will be released alongside the Evercade Vs., so hopefully that'll be the next thing they work on in a year or so.
Also, these weren't the only console ports of Worms games back in the day, as there was also Worms World Party on the PS1. But like you said, it wouldn't be able to fit in these carts along with the other 3, unless they went out of their way to expand it. But even if they could, they would have to ramp up the price a fair bit to make up for the extra space and value of that collection, so it definitely wouldn't be worth the trouble at this point.

As someone who has been following the Worms series since it started on the Amiga, I was very disappointed by the port of Worms 1 they put on this cartridge, as it is far inferior to the Amiga original. You mentioned some issues, I would add the fact that they removed things like *mines* from the game. Yes, there were mines in the first Worms game, and they worked quite differently from how they were in later games, in that they exploded immediately on impact with a worm. This might not seem like a big deal, but it really, really is. You could shoot the ground close to a mine, which could start it slowly tumbling down a hill, where it could hit a worm, which would then fly through the air, hitting another worm, pushing him into another mine, which would send them both flying towards a third worm, and they would all fall into the sea. This is just an example of the kinds of chain reactions you could set off, it could be much more complex and wild still. This is why Worms 1 was the game I was looking most forward to on this cartridge.
In my opinion, the best Worms game, by far, was Worms - The Director's Cut for AGA Amiga's, such as the A1200 or A4000. This is not a widely held opinion, as the game was released long after the Amiga's prime, and only sold about 5000 copies. I have one of those copies, though, and it was amazing. It introduced a lot of new weapons, such as the Banana Bomb, Concrete Donkey, Mortar, and many more. It introduced new features like cave levels, drawing your own level, and new biomes with varying levels of gravity and slipperyness. It improved the graphics, but without going to the soft cartoony style of Worms 2 and onwards, everything was still looking crisp. Most importantly though, it kept the crazy chain reactions and general mayhem of the original.
Everything that came after just seemed tame by comparison, including Worms Armageddon, which I know many have as their favorite.

You can set the mine timer to 0 in the scheme settings in every Worms game to my knowledge, so you don't have to miss out on those chain reactions
I also wish they'd have chosen maybe the DOS version of the original Worms which was also pretty good. Amiga may have been a problem due to the Amiga license not being free, and emulating Amiga requires original boot files

@@Thornskade You can set the timer to 0, but it will still not be instantaneous, unfortunately. In Worms 1 and DC, mines would explode directly on impact.
You may be right that there are some licensing hurdles with the Amiga, and there might also be some with controls. I wish they would look into it though, as the Amiga games library is incredible. :)

@@TheSwiftFalcon Someone would have to make a new Amiga emulator that doesn't depend on original Amiga code, or the license holders would have to make it free, release it, or cease to exist, all unlikely scenarios unfortunately
Your best option is to emulate retro games not on a closed system like the Evercade, but an open one like an Android phone or handheld PC. I have a GPD Win and I can play any Amiga game I want. With closed systems you will always deal with corporate meddling and depend on the will of big corporations

@@Thornskade Doesn't Cloanto hold those licenses these days? If so, they may be possible to deal with. One could always hope. The cart that lets me play It Came from the Desert, Supercars 2, Moonstone or indeed, Worms DC, is the cart I would preorder without hesitation.
Or how about a Cinemaware collection? :)

@@TheSwiftFalcon Well yeah, I don't know how they'd handle those licenses. But Team17 has made all of their Amiga games free which can be downloaded from Dream17, with instructions to buy the $10 Amiga license. Can be used for emulating on Windows, Linux and Android. Definitely a worthwhile investment
The fact that their Amiga games are already publicly available for free may also be a reason why they'd be hesitant to offer people those versions, who knows
