The bottle I tried was very sweet but not cloying. It aftertaste changed very time to be a more fresh sugar taste, almost like chewing on sugar cane. When I added water it opened up and had a more grainy taste, almost like a whole wheat cookie. At $66 it's expensive, but I might treat myself to a bottle.
Huge fan! Always keep at least 6 of these in the bunker. On occasion, a few buddies and I will make our old fashions with Willett 4… Absolutely incredible. Speaking of old fashions, another must try is making one with barrel seagrass. It’s like an apricot vanilla grenade went off in your mouth. Not something you would do often. But needs to be tried.
Definitely bunker worthy! An old fashion with Willett 4 sounds amazing. We will definitely give it a try. Seagrass is also one of our favorite ryes of all time. Seagrass would perfectly compliment an old fashion.
This bottle was probably aged in casks in old greg's layer near curly jefferson with how much it has pulled the word "funk" into this review 😂 Nice review! I am intrigued and it sounds up my alley.
Also any chance you guys would like to do a list challenge with me? Examples; 3 value bottles under certain price, best 3 bourbons or ryes no price limits, best barrel finished. Must have in your collection and taste during filming! Please let me know it will be fun! Thanks guys, great work with your channel!
Sounds like fun! Would you be able to shoot us a DM on Instagram and we can talk more about what type of video we want to creat? Thanks for reaching out!!
I haven’t decided about whether or not to pull the trigger on this one yet, but I will say, having seen this in person, the bottle and the label are absolutely beautiful.
We would recommend it if you’re looking for a completely new rye experience. It’s sort of in a class of its own. I know we said funky too many times in this review, but it couldn’t be more true. Gorgeous bottle!
@@2averagenoobs108 I have heard that in some parts it is $50 or so and easy to find. It is way more expensive in WA. It’d be a daily go-to otherwise. Stellum Rye is a decent alternative and is $55 and easier to find.
Have you tried this stuff?
Truth be told, this is one of my favorite rye’s on the market. Pretty available, great proof, fantastic nose/palate/finish 😎
Definitely a good buy in our opinion. Very unique! Almost a mood whisky for us.

These are definitely unique. We think it’s worth having on the shelf!

Bro, I really hope you have tried it. It is amazing...
@@2averagenoobs108 I sure have! It’s great!
@@2averagenoobs108 it tastes like a liquid Ricola 😂

The best whiskey ever for a bombardier or Manhattan.
Boulevardier.
This definitely stands out in a cocktail!
Wasn’t a fan. Probably one of the worst bottles I own
Strong words, from a strong man!
