As a kid I lived in Goleta but my father's parents lived in Santa Barbara, so we burned up 101 traveling from place to place. I loved it there and hope to one day return. Santa Barbara isn't known as the Riviera of the West Coast for nothing.
I am so glad you have such happy memories of Santa Barbara. I really believe it’s such a great place for growing up. I hope you will make it back sometime 😊
My family had a place on Padaro in the 60's / 70's. Mostly dogs on the beach back then. Our property cost $15,000 for 2 lots. We split the cost with another family and traded weekends. Eventualy the other payer lost his job and we couldn't afford to buy him out, so it went away. Now it's way up in the millions.
I grew up on Glendessary Lane in Mission Canyon. I had relatives and good friends in San Roque, APS, Upper East Side. My family attended Sunday Mass at Mission Santa Barbara.
Ha, thanks. I watched all your videos last night. Very well done! It takes a of effort and work, to produce those videos. I look forward to watching, future videos. Thanks!
What about Haley Street! Within walking distance of the Presidio and Sterns Warf, and the big tree! Biggest tree ever, not tall, but broad and wide. Has poles and chains surrounding it now, to protect it. But back in the day, it was just there. You can even take a walk to the mission, if you are up for a hike! Close to the railroad tracks too, if you need to catch a train out of town.
@@livinginsantabarbara Only one like it I have ever seen! The Moreton Bay Fig is its name, I did not know that, or even that it is a fig tree. It must be well over 100 years old. First time I saw it was 1967, and it was huge and old back then!
I am super sensitive to the sun so comparing SB to LA area, I've found the SB sun and weather to be so much more pleasant. It's sunny but not that intense hot sun that LA gets. And there is more cloud cover and foggy days. It's a sunny town compared other coastal CA towns but the sun is much more mild than LA in a good way! When I drive there from Ventura county, I can see my temperature gage in the car going down once I hit Ventura city.

I want to visit Santa Barbara in the future
Fabulous! I am sure you would love it😊
I just returned from a day trip to Santa Barbara, and I think I know where I want to retire in about 5 years (currently in Washington DC).
I love it! I think SB is an amazing place for enjoying retirement. 😊
Visited 2 years ago. Beautiful place. If I had a million dollars laying around, I’d be there. Such a cool place!
It really is a cool place. I‘m glad you came to visit. And I keep my fingers crossed for the million dollars coming your way 😀😉

One million dollars would just about cover a down payment on your mortgage!

The Moreton Bay Fig Tree on Montecito Street? I love that tree. It’s gorgeous and majestic. 🥰

Ich möchte eines Tages nach Santa Barbara auswandern. Da weiß ich ja an wen ich mich wenden muss 😁

Whats sunny is Santa Barbara??
How different is it from LA?
Thanks for watching my video. The average high in SB is 65-75°. Average low 45-60°. It’s more of a small town, beachy and relaxed vibe here in SB.
@@livinginsantabarbara I mean sunny! The actual sunlight.
There are on average 283 sunny days per year in Santa Barbara. During May/June/July we get some morning fog here, also known as "June Gloom"
