Thank you, that was well done. We live near here.

Your narration and editing are well done. We passed through 3 days before this event. By the time this travesty was happening we were already in North Dakota on our journey. After a week on our loop back through South Dakota and Wyoming we came back through the Wind River and Teton area only to find no campsites available due to Yellowstone being closed. This video is the best coverage of this event. The news had some shocking views but I really like your story telling.

Dang. I was just there this past summer 2023 and so much of it was repaired. I could still see the cut banks on the river. Seeing all the debris on the 89 was crazy. We stayed near Pray/Emigrant and entered Yellowstone from the northwest entrance. They were doing a lot of work in the park and there were delays, but most of it was open and accessible.

Wow. What a great video. It's crazy, I was literally in the same area as you, and was looking for my van in your video clips lol. Fortunately, I had decided to go on through from the Immigrant area (just north of Gardiner) to Grand Tetons area 2 days before this devastation happened. Even vlogged about it in my season 2. I loved how you captured this. Even though it was an incredibly terrible time for the area, you really captured the feelings of the moments. Safe travels, friend.

Thank you. Hope you get to see the tops of the Tetons. When I was there (before Yellowstone) it was raining and the clouds covered them. Looking forward to getting back there.

Being an easterner, Boston, I'd bet, makes it difficult to hang out in Gardner. I'd go on vacation there.

We were staying just north of Gardiner the week before the flooding started. The Yellowstone River was already high and rapidly flowing.

When did a flood become a "flood event"?

I camped at Eagle Creek for two weeks after the flood. No one was there and Gardiner was empty! We hiked up the road into the park to see the destruction which is significant. I hope they close the canyon road up to Mammoth permanently and make it into a walking park. That road always had trouble with slides. It will be expensive to repair and the new road, the old stage coach road to mammoth is fine.
