  • The search continues for the final rock to cap the chimney. Then in preparation for the first fire, Peter elevates trees over the chimney (using modern safety equipment) He spends the following morning in the blacksmith shop making fire place tools. Are you providing/ playing the instrument? I liked the other introduction. But I will no doubt get used to this. Glad the fire drew well up the chimney. Draw or drew. Up the chimney? Blessings.

Two friends of mine from the Nova Scotia provide our music and we try and change it up occasionally. “Draw or drew” … the important part, it worked!

You need some more 21st century stuff like a battery operated small pole or chain saw:) Like the safety rope and gear putting it on my list. Just subscribed like your style and knowledge!

You could smelt iron ,and cast Russian tank turrets in that thing.
Truly a much more worthy accomplishment than some huge, modern , atrocity.

Those rocks…my iron digging bar is my friend, no sense being careless; , climbing harness and fall rated caribeeners are good tools. I think I would have taken the overhanging tree down, you ate going to need firewood.

I drive a bucket truck for a friend that supports his Cummins swapping everything addiction by doing tree work so I'm saving up for a sawmill to mill what I can't find for my small house I'm building from reclaimed materials. It may look weird when I'm done but I really don't care.

Stumbled across your channel today and subscribed right away! I grew up working in the woods with my father in Alaska, we would only be at one location for around one month at a time so our camps were the big white canvas tents which we could easily take down and put back up in the next place we were working? I always dreamed about building a cabin just like yours to live in permanently. Watching this video today really has given me inspiration to get back to my youth and start making a plan to live completely off grid again! Thank you and I look forward to your next video!

This was my first viewing of your videos. I love your little cabin in the woods. Do you make and sell any of your blacksmith trivets and pot holders? I have an open fireplace that I would love to be able to cook over the open flame fire. n cook food in i

Sorry Carol, I don’t make things to sell. However, there are lots of blacksmiths out there that are trying to make a living at the old trade and would love your business. Some museum have working blacksmith shops and also sell their wares. Finally, often there is a blacksmith at living history or reenactment events. Hope this helps.
