    Step 1. Have a sub37
    What a synth 😍

      Nah... you can do this on anything. you just need 2 oscillators. - and soft synth can do it. I've a video demoing the sound on Rob Papens BIT.

    🙌🏼 great tutorial and sounds. useful seeing the DAW automation for decay etc. Bridges the gap between live hardware jam and studio-produced track.

      Thanks… yeah I like hardware jams but if you’re going to record anything as a ‘standard’ track (ie something that DJs can play) you’re going to have to do some additional bits and bobs. Unless you’re Richard Devine and have a gazzilion hardware units to sync FX and tweaks there’s no other way to pull it into a polished mix.

    Nice one, bruvah! ;) Thanks for digging into this! I hate to date myself (as though I hadn't, already,) but I would love to see a deep dive into Darude's timeless classic, Sandstorm. (Just add glowsticks!)

    That was fantastic. And very insightful - I've watched a couple of videos recreating this awesome track (but each on other gear), and it's fascinating to see everyone's approach to it.

    Mate this is awesome….. question how the hell did you figure out all those moog changes tweaks?

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks.. haha I just sort of know what's going on when I hear it. I suppose programming and playing synths for years you get to know what's happening. Its super simple but super effective.

    Great tutorial! One note though, I'm sure Stephan wouldn't write it like this if he was using a plugin, the organic tweaking of all the parameters readily available on the Sub37 is 50% of the sound. With plugins it's easy to get "lazy" and stick with 5-6 automation lanes, while the sub37 wants you to automate 10-20 lanes :D

    great job with this emulation But your version, while it sounds great, also sounds boring and repetitive despite your modulations. THe original doesn't - What is the secret sauce?!!?

    very overrated track

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  Рік тому

      There are so many soundalikes now that it doesn’t appear to be that original. But when it was released it stood out. Those huge octave sweeps with glide in a single oscillator… simply adding a 5th, and using a basic 808 pattern with noise shots for builds. It’s very innovative. And as with lots of innovative stuff it’s really simple.
