I've always loved Paula Abdul and always will. But this video is when I fell in love with Keanu Reeves. I loved him in Bill & Ted's but this was so incredibly sweet and the fact that it's pays homage to a fantastic movie "Rebel Without A Cause" is even more special. I don't think I can suggest enough Paula Abdul songs but I'll start with "Forever Your Girl". 😎👍

I was an 8th grader going into my freshman year and got to be a part of an All Native American Summer School in the college campus at Oklahoma City and THIS song was Everywhere. Pretty much became THE SONG and when it was time to go home everyone was crying, this song playing all over MTV! What a time. What a Summer!

Love this song so much! This was inspired by the movie Rebel Without A Cause. It came out in 1955, starring James Dean and Natalie Wood (the two characters they're portraying in the video). If you ever watch the movie (which I highly recommend) you'll notice similarities during some of the scenes.
I saw back in early '90s, a _Hollywood Insider, Entertainment Television(ET)_ or similar show report that Keanu Reeves, during this period of his career '85-'92 _(River's Edge, Bill & Ted, Parenthood, & I Love You To Death)_ he had very bad hygene & was _Parenthood_ cast members Steve Martin, Jason Robards & Tom Hulse (Animal House) that told Reeves "Bathe" Every Day or get Blackballed in Hollywood by them.... "Tough Love" from fellow actors.
So many feelings. Dedicated this one to my husband when it came out. We both loved Paula, and it was perfect for how I felt about him. I miss him so much, he passed this last November, hasn't even been 3 months yet. Hurts, but beautiful memories. Thank you 💜💜

I think you will like her dance hits: "Knocked Out" and "The way that you love me" The remix videos are usually more popular. Also, Janet Jackson "Miss you much" (with the Chair routine). Janet's Alright featuring Heavy D. Finally "Heavy D" has an impressive catalogue that should be explored.

Paula Abdul was one of the few performers that survived my transition from pop music to punk/grunge when I started high school. I listened to her tape (I'm old af) so much that I had to repair it with scotch tape a few times until I gave up and just bought the CD.
She had her spot right next to Pearl Jam on my CD shelf. Friends would be like why do you have this, and I would respond "Because she's awesome".
This was always my favorite song/video. Partly because of Keanu (😍) and partly because it's one of her songs I always sing along with from start to finish.
This was the first single from her 2nd album. Like Cyndi Lauper, she waited quite a while to release a 2nd album. I remember many critics emphasized (at the time of the 2nd release for each) that they both waited too long. We'll never know, but neither replicated their success from 1st album. However, I think it's safe to say it seems like Cyndi Lauper lasted longer even Paula resurrected her career on "American Idol".
You should react to "Toy Soldiers" by Martika. It's a gem.
Both Rush Rush and True Colors were #1 hits for Paula & Cyndi, while there second eras werent as successful as their first they still saw success. For Paula Rush Rush became her biggest #1.

This was Paula's 2nd album introduction. They wanted a surprise, they got it, along with another #1. Please listen to the 2nd single, "The Promise of a New Day". Completely uplifting!😊
If you want to see Keanu in a different type of roll, you should watch A Walk in the Clouds. It is a great love story and so different from the Matrix and John Wick roles you are used to seeing.

This video doesn't have scenes from a movie, but it does re-create scenes from the James Dean movie "Rebel Without A Cause" which was made in the 1950s. That's why the cars and costumes look the way they do. I hope that someday soon, you two will take a look at Christina Aguilera's live performance of "You Lost Me" when she was a guest on David Letterman in 2010. A very emotional performance.

many years ago I read that Paula so loved and believed in this song that when it came to recording it, she sung it in one take (so the story goes). A number one hit in the states for 5 weeks. A glorious song where Paula danced with grace.

I had a HUGE crush on Keanu at this time - so I SCREAMED when I first saw this video. I watched it as many times as I could lol No, it wasn't a movie, just a cool video. Back in the 90s-2000s, they made elaborate videos for songs. I used to love watching all the "making of" on MTV. PS for more of romantic Keanu, PLEASE react to A Walk in the Clouds!

I knew Jay would approve of this! I know the effect this song can have on men. My then boyfriend drove an old car, Rush Rush was one of the songs on the mixed cassette tape. The tape was stuck, so the song played a lot as we drove to and from the clubs with our friends in the 90s. Two tough men in the front, one with tattoos, the other with dreadlocks, singing along with Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson! We girls in the backseat really enjoyed seeing that! 😄
