Not sure about the "Focus" function in Studio One but in Ableton Live "Focus" allows you to hover over a parameter with your mouse and adjust the parameter with the large knob on the UF8 (instead of fiddling with the mouse or certain scroll wheels that aren't accurate)...one of my favorite features. "Fine" allows you to make small adjustments while using the UF8's knob.
Love the video's Dave👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you DJ
Another great informative video Dave, thanks... btw my new Presonus Faderport 16 does work with my Softube Console 1 and Studio One 5 ... so far they work perfectly together... I did disconnect my Softube Fader 1 because I dont need it as I have all the faders I need with Faderport 16. your videos helped tremendously with my setup decision... thank you.
Thank you Ace!
UPDATE: Your Part 2 answered this question...
I own the SSL UC1 (which is a great unit) and I am thinking of buying these (or perhaps another brand) of DAW controllers to use w/Studio One.
I may have missed it, but does this unit have transport controls. (Play, Stop, FF, RW, RTZ), etc. Thanks David.

yes, transport control are here!
My understanding is...the reason Studio One and moving through UF8 banks does not "follow" is because the UF8...like most controllers... relies on the Mackie Protocol. It's the same with Cubase. Fwiw, this was a deal breaker for me.
That may be true but why does Presonus own products dont work either? Both the Faderport and the studioLiver has the same issue
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Interesting. Could it be Presonus wants their Faderport devices to be compatible with many DAWs...thus use Mackie protocol?
not sure if you got to it in follow up but you can install a simple script and it follows
I have no idea, sorry
Can i make cuts and add fades with this controller?
Not that I am aware of
You have to add a costume soft key in the 360 software but its possible I set cut, fade, duplicate its works great
Do you know what capabilities (if any,) exist for doing Surround Sound?
none that I know of
So frustrating that Studio One doesn't show the same track(s) as selected on the UF8. Maybe it's something that Presonus need to address in a future update, and anyway SSL should be pushing them on this because I'm sure SSL would sell more UF8's if the two poducts matched up 100% rather than about 80%. It's certainly making me hesitant to go down the UF8 route. 😎
Every controller has their little things that dont work well with Studio One. Presonus has no reason to work with any other company because they make the Faderport, which has its issues as well
Well. I have updated my Mackie xml file for Studio One so that the DAW does follow the jog wheel and also for the bank up/down buttons below. If anyone is interested, I can share this updated XML. Since updating my XML it has transformed my UF8 workflow for the better.

check out this script (not mine) but it achieves this and makes the UF8 with studio one 100% better.
@@discosucks604 Hey Disco, is this the same as "ronald vonks" script? I installed his and made the studio one UF8 integration much better. Wondering if yours adds additional features? thanks!
@@discosucks604 Heya, I would very much appreciate this file if it is available, thankyou.
Thanks!
Thank you so very much!!
Really nice! I have the UC1 and UF8. Even though use it every day i still know there is so much to learn about the UF8. When is the follow up for this one? Keep up the good work. Greets from The Netherlands
Coming soon!
I would advise any Studio One users thinking of a control surface to buy the Faderport 16 over this. It's cheaper in price and is very well integrated with Studio One.
As you know, I have video series on both controllers so everyone should watch them both series and make their own decision. Both are good products.
I agree, i love my faderport 16 and it works perfect with my softube console 1 together with Studio One.
Well I mean it would be an intelligent choice picking a piece of gear that was made by the same company that made your daw 😂
