Interestingly, we arrived in the US at the same time. I agree with you about the transportation differences, PDA, and oh yes, folks are so loud out here!
I'm American and I agree, finding friends and keeping the connection is hard. Our schools feel very isolating. A lot of us don't know our neighbors anymore, but it wasn't always like that. When I was a kid I played outside with my neighbors. I miss knowing my neighbors. 🥺

On the customer service thing, I agree with you 100%. There's plenty of customer service here unless of course you go to those individually owned gas stations.

What you addressed is interesting Americans have a high sense of individuality so forming friendships and relationships and meeting people is difficult to down right impossible,social culture is isolating and people dont even know their neighbors friendships are limited to cliques which are generally closed off to outsiders not like Kenya where everybody knows everybody else and there is a sense of community...I could state more but youtube will most likely delete my comment...am a Kenyan who has lived in US for over 18 years and hope to go home for good in the near future.

Honestly in the ghettos we have real community but who tf levels poverty for an opportunity and moves into another type of poverty so you’ll never get the real US experience

You just reminded me of one of my former roommates 🤣🤣🤣he asked our neighbors where to get food and they called the cops on him .poor guy had just landed from kenya and taken a taxi to the house and no one was home 🤣🤣

She's literally describing america before 2k. The internet destroyed how we socialize. No one knows their neighbors anymore. Kids don't hang out and play in large groups in the neighborhood anymore.

I would do anything to get back my Kenyan accent. I have lost the rich grammar both in speaking and writing, while adapting to this place and I've been here 23 years 🙄.

You're judging them unfairly by your own culture standards.
Na venye sisi Wakenya tunadhani tunaongea Kizungu Sanifu- 3 years down the Lane , our sister above still speaks with an accent. It takes a while to adjust dear, you are doing good .
Atleast it took you two weeks to get a friend...I came in '17 as well and I still feel sooo alone. I guess it's easier when you come as a student because you get to mingle with alot of people and you have a higher chance of bumping into a Kenyan whom you can walk the walk with and can relate to as well.
Actually there's this family friend of mine who came here as a junior in highschool and she told me she finished highschool without a single friend. So I just think its hard to form connections here.
