Went every year when I was in Jr high and high school in the late 70s early 80s to a Army/Navy surplus in Hammond Indiana to buy a pair of rip stop buddy pants in the standard woodland issue. They were like $15 to $25 through the years. They had the WWll through Vietnam Fanny packs all the then used accessories. Bugs repellent, camp face paint in the medal push-up tubes. That used a certain anti moisture pouch in all the crates years ago and I can remember the distinct odor it had. Not all that is considered vintage. Last time I was in is store was 25 years ago to get a black raincoat when I worked for the department of correction and worked outside and a couple tank netting to cover our boats when we went duck hunting. Great memories.

Here in the UK nearly every town had an Army surplus store. Most owned by ex military men. We had one in my hometown way back in the 70,s. Could buy a reject/ seconds Backpack for a dollar. Happy days. None left now and some of the online stores have now gone bust.

On Garland Rd but in Dallas just outside of Garland ha. I was sad for a couple of years because I had thought they went out of business but then I saw that they had moveda little way down the street as I usually travel through the area on the cross street by where they used to be located.

The army stores are not what they used to be. Mostly have overpriced reproduced junk. Not much is real. Not much is real!! Waste of time. Ridiculous prices on used ammo boxes that used to be $5. I am done with this channel.
