- Just felt like making a review video of my new mountainbike. This is the first product review on my channel and it might as well be the last. But since I use my bikes as the means of transportation in most of my videos, I feel that it is somehow relevant.
And as with all of my videos, you should watch this to the end. 😊
The width of MTN bike handlebars has gone nuts over the last 10 or more years. I have seen them marked at the ends under the grips so you can cut them down to a less ungainly width. I just bought this same bike and yes, the bars are really wide, but I like the wide stance. I think the bike is a good value for the money.
It's not. It's a terrible value for the money.
This bike is more than good enough for you. You dont need Carbon frame for normal exercise. Nice mtb bike.
your flat tire has nothing to do with Maxxis, but with the thorn. It would penetrate the Schwalbe as well...
nice
Is it worth buying for 950€ can anyone tell me
Certainly not today. It is the 2022 model and I bought it more than a year ago. Now it sells for around 750€ new, if you can still find it.
I saw some used carbon bikes two or three years old in a very good condition, like Scott scale,Canyon Exceed or Trek Procaliber for that money...
This bike is not a good deal for many reasons. First of all it is the old model. The new model with an updated frame costs around 1.100 €. This old model costs now a days around 700 € new. Secondly, this bike has a terrible price/value relation. Take the GIANT XTC SLR 29 2 for instance, the 2023 model. You get it for 1.000 € and it is much lighter (12,5 kg), has a great 34 100mm CREST air suspension, has fantastic tubeless maxxis tires, true axles in both wheels, and a much better geometry. The SCOTT SCALE 980 weighs 13,8 kg, has thin quick release axles in both wheels, has a terrible coil spring 32 100mm SUNTOUR XRC suspension, and has no tubeless tires. The TREK X CALIBER 8 also has a much better price/value relation than the SCOTT and is a bike that has around 135 kg load capacity. You really made a bad deal.
If you want a light weight frame, tubeless tires and high quality suspension, this is not the bike for you. For me personally, these features don‘t count that much. After 8 months and around 2000 km I am continuing to have a lot of fun with that bike. There were absolutely no issues except the one flat tire I got when recording the video. And yes, the suspension is really crappy. However, I have been riding trekking and racing bikes without any suspension for decades, so this is no big deal for me, personally.
