What I did with my Horse Chestnuts was... Get a big pot... Layer of soil then on top of that, lay about 10 chestnuts. Another layer of soil, then chestnuts and repeat. Leave it outside in a shaded area and cover the pot with mesh to stop cats, foxes and such. Leave it till late March. Carefully remove the chestnuts from the pot and hopefully you should have them sprouting. Hope this helps.
Is this Aesculus hippocastanum youre talking about. Tray them up, 1 conker per 10cm pot free draining grow mix, barely covered then play in a cold frame. By early spring they should be up.
