This week's Show of the Weekend isn't on a purple sofa, but a bench in Apple Park, as Ellen and Luke had a sneaky look at some of the new gadgets and games coming from Apple. Plus we read through your comments and have a disagreement over flapjacks...!
Hurray for global tracking chips! We will never loose sight of OXtra ever again ... NEVER! Also someone broke your microwave, and the local phone reception is down ... strange :P

I love how Luke and Ellen get on like an old married couple sometimes. Luke: "They need a bit of crunch." Ellen: "lowerers sunglasses and glares at Luke!" 👀
@@suisui7481 yeah, I know Luke is married and I wasn't shipping Luke and Ellen I was just pointing out some how some of their interactions are adorable and that's why I love the dream team Luke and Ellen.💜

It could have been a quiet, unobtrusive almost invisible creature living under your bed, just to keep you company when you go to sleep (and in the dream lands ...).
They are all very excited about putting a fast charger in the box, adding a camera, increasing a battery... The innovation is simply staggering! ^sarcasm, in case you didn't catch it^
It seems that Sofia the Sofa isn't Sofia the First (Sofa)... She's a replacement! 😵😱 She doesn't even have Mike's custom butt-grooves! 😢 Does that make her an "Imposterpedic"?
Wait, they release a black hole when their trainer is in ANY kind of danger? Woah, better stick to the soft and chewy flapjacks rather than the ones which can break your teeth. For the good of humanity.
I had a bunch of imaginary friends when I was growing up (I'm guessing my stuffed animals that I gave complex interior lives don't count), but the only ones I remember very well were Roger (a blue talking pig from Japan) and her brother Lloyd (some kind of green cat creature??) and thanks to the ennui of early adolescence, all our silly adventures got more and more complicated until I started actually writing them and that's how I got into writing lmao props to my weird babies
Mikes Hitman play style is what it should be. He s just always doing the most fun thing without worrying what comes next and without trying to achieve something in the most efficient way possible. Maybe his chaos is a form of patience as well.
As one of those for whom Show of the Weekend is a weekly ritual, I would have totally understood a short/altered/nonexistent Show of the Weekend given you guys were in the US. But I’m so glad you went the extra mile and did a full one for us. ❤️
I didn't even think about this until now, but it's super cute. Anyway, the youngest of my many brothers used to have a 6-foot tall glow in the dark penguin with night vision goggle called Phrosty as his imaginary friend, who he was absolutely certain existed, and the only reason the rest of us never saw him was because he went to the moon every day using the cardboard box used for the hamsters cage delivery and only came back at night whilst everyone else was asleep. He actually made his Dad put out some of his clothes for Phrosty one night because he was sad that he didn't have any of his own. Anyway, I thought someone would find this cute.
I used to work at a place where the staff canteen made flapjacks fresh, the slightly crunchy ones from the edge of the pan were always the last to be sold.
My imaginary friend growing up wasn't exactly 'imaginary'. Rather, it was a three-foot long stuffed St. Bernard that I had absolutely convinced myself was a real dog.
So the next time someone falls to their demise we can watch it in slow motion? Wonderful... Also I never had imaginary friends but I often put myself in some of my favorite TV series such as Star Trek and Mission Impossible.
Wish I could live my life with the same carefree confidence as the maniac that pitched the name 'Slofies' Definitely a Bud Fenzler type mover and shaker
I’m so happy that Simogo are finally getting some real press coverage. Their horror game, Year Walk, is an absolute master class in storytelling, visual design, and atmosphere. It’s one of my favorite games of all time and it’s such an underrated gem. Device 6 is a phenomenal puzzle game with an amazing aesthetic and great story. Sailors Dream is an extremely simple and yet beautiful game that tells a very compelling story and has some great music. Beat Sneak Bandit is a fun and quirky rhythm game that visually reminds me a lot of Night in The Woods. All of these games are really good and all of them deserve more recognition (but mostly Year Walk) so if you have an iPhone please for the love of god play more of their games. Year Walk is also available on Steam and WiiU.
You know what, I am awake at 3 AM in California, mostly because for Friday the 13th I had: Ticket sales run out Very expensive and loving fish (Discus) die AND the bloody central sewage line got blocked and backed up for 8 HOURS before we fixed it. I hate everything, but this is the last thing I see before finally going to bed, and that makes be happy. Thank you for the relief. Love you guys, I hope to buy you all a drink one day. Cheers.
It was about the games at first, but getting to know your personalities and enjoying your interactions, I'd be happy watching you guys talk about or doing just about anything! Luke, Ellen, Mike, Andy, and Jane are just so entertaining, I always look forward to watching the shows and lists every week.
What this episode has confirmed... Oxtra has the best hair game out of the channels Andy definitely has that Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor wallpaper in one room of his house at least
Hearing Luke talking about the way of watching someone else playing Smash reminded me a bit of when I started fencing. When you first watch two fencers in a duel, it's completely overwhemling and you see almost nothing expect "noise". But once you understand the mechanics, time suddenly flows different and you see patterns.
My childhood imaginary friend was Orion (based on the constellation). I still, once in a while, look up at the sky at night and let him know I'm doing alright.
Show of the Weekend is the perfect short show to relax and get in the mood for simple pleasures and fun. So thank you for producing the show even on a busy week out of the country!
Thank you so much for doing the show of the weekend in so many different ways/ places. I know it can't be easy to travel halfway across the world and then do a conference, then record a video, then more traveling, then editing on jet lag.
I can't explain to you how happy I was when Ellen started reciting the lyrics to the Danger Mouse theme song. I'm 36 from America and somehow my dad showed me Danger Mouse when i was little and i still love it. Oh eck, Oh fiddle, oh crumbs.

Last week's show prompted me to try baking flapjacks. I used Mary Berry's recipe and they were outstanding. A++, will definitely bake again. Ellen was making her own shade against the heat of the Californian sun in this episode with some brutal condescension! "You're doing really well sweetie". Time for a training montage Andy. Get those hard flapjacks in!
Ellen’s explanation of crunchy flapjacks was darn helpful. I’ve had those Nature’s Valley bars plenty of times. They’re not quite as bad as Grape Nuts breakfast cereal, which I’m convinced is leftover gravel from construction sites, but yeah, they can be hard on the teeth.
I have no recollection of a childhood imaginary friend, but my son had one named Krinkwalker that was a wealth of entertainment. Maybe I'm wrong, but in South Africa, pancakes are very thin and often come rolled up with a filling or cinnamon. Flapjacks are also soft and chewy, but thicker. And we call those hard oat things "crunchies". Also I liked Ellen's smile at the end of her slowfie :)

Jane is getting bolder with her experiments. Love her icon being Prudence too.
Prudence just plays Jane in the mortal realms.
Also love her wallpaper being the Haunted Mansion
Yes Bolder, that's what they call it.
who is this Prudence you speak of there is only Jane
Was her WhatsApp screen reversed? Her messages were on the left. Do their own messages show up on the left, in the UK the way they drive?? 🤔😉 Also, a golf ball behind the eye?? 😨
I could clearly hear Andy's worry and Jane's nonchalant disregard for safety in this week's cold open. Even in text form. Amazing.
So Mike has a camera behind his eye, Ellen and Luke have tracking devices, so what does Andy have? Jane wouldn't leave him out of the fun, would she?
I have always thought that Andy is Jane's Handler. Like Diana to Hitman.
Have you forgotten? Andy is on his way into becomming a sentient planet.
Andy has Jane’s £50-£100... I hope
Andy is Jane’s life like A.I. We all know he only has two emotional states.
An RFID chip in his forehead, we learned that yesterday, where were you?
Jane's "LOL" at the end really makes it
I've never found myself in love with hair before, but the bob in Luke's hair during the slowfie was incredible.

Jane's continued descent (orrr rise??) into a super villain is the best OxCrew storyline.
Apple doing slow motion on the front camera. I've just checked my old Nokia 6. It can do it too. Years before Apple.
Every feature apple announced has been done by someone else years before. None of it is new yet they manage to market it like it is.

Nick Jeffery the most important member of Outside Xtra!

She's a replacement! 😵😱
She doesn't even have Mike's custom butt-grooves! 😢
Does that make her an "Imposterpedic"?
Ellen killing us with that hair flick.
Flapjacks should be like armadillos, smooth on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
