oh goddamnit i was at quakecon and got a key for dusk, didnt even know about it before hand, wish i met you there :/ also could you put this up for sale, i would like to drive to it :P
Holy shit, this music makes me want to rip a battleship to shreds with my bare hands. At the bare minimum, double park at the local Longhorn Steakhouse during lunch hour.
UA-cam always puts Hulshult recommendations up whenever I'm listening to metal, and it always ends up being the most brutal thing I listen to that day, because it is literally music to kill to
Hello, you probably won't be reading this but I really wanted to express how much of a fan I am of your work. Your music has helped me go through mutliple rough things and is also responsible for lots of good times and memories of mine. I wanted to thank you for that, you're a big metal inspiration and reference for me. My favorite track you've composed is "Endless" from the DUSK Ost but I enjoy pretty much everything you've made. Hand Cannon, Deceased Diagnosis, Sacrifice, Cables & Chaos, Depersonalization and Erebus Reaction are amongst my favorites too Please continue making awesome heavy badass metal forever! Have a great day/night.
Andrew’s soundtracks are more than music to me they’re motivating and not to mention very original can’t find anything else that touches that nerve like Andrew.
I found this song on Spotify and it gave me chills. I immediately was like- UM- WHAT GAME IS THIS FROM AND WHERE CAN I GET IT? It's so incredibly epic and it fits the game well. I finally made it to the part where this song comes in and it almost made me cry how perfect it was haha. The game gives you a feeling of uncovering something evil that has been hidden and developing for years and now its time for you to END it. I love reading the comments and seeing how many people also appreciate how awesome the game and music is. Thank you!
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BRUUUTALLLL. I cannot explain how fucking much i love this, like holy shit. i dont think we could have asked for better music. just awesome, the feeling of it is just fucking raaddd
1:36 Rocking back in forth in my chair feeling every inch of hellbent argent energy from this. Andrew didn't fall from heaven, he blasted his way through demons and rocket jumped straight outta hell. Rock on!!!!!!
Literally what happened to me, hand cannon and departure to destruction slapped so hard I whipped out my wallet and never regretted my decision (except when i keep having to search up a walkthrough on how to exit a level)
Excellent work Mr. Hulshult, my hat is off to you for creating Doom Metal at its best. Really brilliant work, very impressive, I would comment exactly the same on Adapt or Die from Bombshell, which I think should be included w/Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but you haven't posted it (yet)...just subscribed to your channel, you guys totally ROCK!!! THANK YOU
I know it's an unpopular opinion. But to me most of Mick Gordon's tracks for DOOM felt like 1 part cool riffs and beats, 10 parts random clanging and droning. Felt appropriate in the game, but outside and by themselves I don't know.
It's unpopular but what you say is definitely legitimate. I feel the greatest weakness of a dynamic soundtrack like in Doom 2016's is a lack of structure and composition you'd expect from music.
Just my opinion of Mick Gordon's Doom - it worked, but there was too much atmospheric electronica, so much so that with tracks like Blood and Rust, they didn't have much identity, just a sort of; This is the shit you hear on this level, go pew pew now."
Andrew, I highly recommend you give the original Twisted Metal 1 & 2 soundtracks a listening. I feel like you'd enjoy them a lot, and maybe get a little inspiration. Great work!
Meshuggah is pretty similar. Worth checking out if you can handle harsh vocals, which aren't that bad tbh, nothing like the real heavy black grindcore shit, more like Lamb of God level.
New Dusk trailer:

See you at Quakecon!
Andrew Hulshult Wish Dusk had all levels having unique songs instead of creepy ambience :( Seems the devs played Quake without music or something
olzhas1one You haven't played it yet. Creepy ambience was quakes wheel house, it's there but also with some melody.
Andrew Hulshult Oh ok then, can't wait to play it! Also, will you remaster the TNT Evilution music?
This track is absolute killer, good job. Loved your tracks in Rise of the Triad!
oh goddamnit i was at quakecon and got a key for dusk, didnt even know about it before hand, wish i met you there :/
also could you put this up for sale, i would like to drive to it :P
The guitar tone is lower than my income.
DPM Are you saying that it's discount guitar tone! ;-)
I think he meant to saying tuning, lol.
+Mr Morbid Dictionary meaning of Tone: a musical or vocal sound with reference to its pitch, quality, and strength.
You learned something new today :)
I'm well aware. Just my style of humor lol.
100th like
Hearing this kick in for the third time when the hidden, tiny horse appeared had me in hysterics.
actually thats departure from destruction, at least now
I don't want the Dusk Dude in Smash, I want him in Quake Champions
The ZombieMan quake champions is the smash bros of id software
I think the Dusk guy could be Doom guy's only opponent.
anyone who cares about what does or doesn't get into a children's party game is stupid as fuck.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
what an amazing hidden gem of a youtube comment
Rip and tear… until it is done
I imagine this was written in the Longhorn Steakhouse on their lunch hour while wearing heaphones.... with a double parked truck outside lol
Heard about morning wood but never about dusk wood
Duskwood is right next to Goldshire which is right next to Stormwind.

Quake-like oldschool FPS with music made by Andrew Hulshult's is pretty much destined to be awesome.
So true
I'm deaf and I can still hear this

Thank you for playing, listening and sharing. Glad you got something out of it!
This soundtrack is one of its kind. Couldn't find anything similar since this dropped a whooping 6 years ago. Well done!
Andrew Hulshult is *worthy*
Congrats on being the new composer for Doom! I was really hoping it would be you. You're easily the best man for the job.
More Hulshult greatness. I was just playing endless mode in dusk and thinking, " damn this music makes me pumped"
I almost broke the table with my head
Your music makes me feel damned and an unstoppable force.
You’ve made the impossible possible.
Avid Meshuggah influence...This is gonna wreck.
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BRUUUTALLLL. I cannot explain how fucking much i love this, like holy shit. i dont think we could have asked for better music. just awesome, the feeling of it is just fucking raaddd
This shit alone might make me buy the fucking game.

Hell Yeah! Between you and Mick Gordon, shooters are finally getting some bad ass soundtracks again.
Whenever this plays in Endless, I just can't stop the carnage!
No dislike? Shows how good this soundtrack is.
Can't wait to have to wait for another 2 years until this soundtrack comes out! ;)
ALMOST OUT
did you see when he posted the soundtrack to ROTT
Jets'n'guns huh? Fantastic

Been listening to these more than anything else since 2018, the time I found out about DUSK.
That huge boss monster in the tight corridors was definitely an evil combination, my heart was pumping till the last stretch
Can't... stop... HEADBANG !
This is sublime. Thanks for another kickass track and I'm looking forward to rocking out with my rocket launcher out when I get Dusk!
You never cease to amaze my dude! This is all kinds of kick ass!
Hyped for this game. So far I like where your career has taken you and I can't wait to see what you do next.
Andrew, You are awesome !!!! I more so waiting for dusk to release to I can experience more of your music, Keep making awesome and amazing music !!!!
This track is pure eradication.
Holy shit, man...
That's some really Heavy stuff!
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy the game for the soundtrack alone.
Well played and keep them coming.
Literally what happened to me, hand cannon and departure to destruction slapped so hard I whipped out my wallet and never regretted my decision (except when i keep having to search up a walkthrough on how to exit a level)

Fuckin fantastic
Bloody amazing

Have I just discovered a cult of Doomguys?
When you're here for music but discover a game D:
The track is soo good that it wiped out the dislike button from UA-cam
This makes morning coffee metal. This makes everything metal. Blacker than the blackest night, times infinity.
2:19 glory for my ears
Yo you should add this onto your Spotify page! I'd love to work out to this!
Holy crap, this is amazing.
That's some bad ass stuff right there dude keep up the good work
My only complaint on dusk is that its hard to play an fps while banging your head..
Music's got me sold on the game. Good stuff!
Now I know why this is called Handcannon, actually pretty straight to the point about it.
Now this makes me wanna frag something.
I've never headbang on a game soundtrack in a longtime but shit that's so GOOD !! \m/
Doom.... Is in good hands.
Quality Work my friend.
Amazing Master Piece
that time you see a guy headbang so much he cracks his skull open on the moon somehow.
don't even question it, just continue listening to the moozick
its like doom but you can play it on your grandmas computer 10/10
you can play Doom on pretty much any computer produced after 1992
Bethesda should've hired you to do the soundtrack for the latest DOOM. You are the shooter soundtrack king the way I see it.
I know it's an unpopular opinion. But to me most of Mick Gordon's tracks for DOOM felt like 1 part cool riffs and beats, 10 parts random clanging and droning. Felt appropriate in the game, but outside and by themselves I don't know.

FINALY Someone actually appreciates Quake 1!!!
I hope they hire you for the next quake game
I just played through this entire song on drums. My right leg hurts. A lot.
Andrew, I highly recommend you give the original Twisted Metal 1 & 2 soundtracks a listening. I feel like you'd enjoy them a lot, and maybe get a little inspiration. Great work!
Groovy!
I don't know who you funded to make such research but I'm pretty confident that track is scientifically designed to make you head bang uncontrollably.
Somehow I listen to this more than anything on my playlist...and somehow it fits in with the low poly gore and gameplay...
That part 50 seconds in makes me wish there was a death metal band with an organ pianist. Probably one of my favorite pieces of music this year.
I.........HEARD........EREBUS...........ERECTI-.........i mean.........REACTION
So F'n GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

*HOLY DEEPFRIED DONKEY FUCK, THIS IS SOME GOOD SHIT.*

fucking amazing music! headbanging at home!
Bro, what type of tuning gets a guitar to sound like this!😎
This is fucking awesome!
Good shit!
Wish I could get this on iTunes or SoundCloud
Or like literally any platform or service at all other than UA-cam MP3's.
wish doom 2016 sounded this good
i like this one
HELL YEAH!
very good and cool
is there a specific genre of music like this just instrumental rock or something?
I could listen to stuff like this all day
It's metal. A bit of Doom and some Djent, you could search for some of that.
look up the doom ost
Meshuggah is pretty similar. Worth checking out if you can handle harsh vocals, which aren't that bad tbh, nothing like the real heavy black grindcore shit, more like Lamb of God level.
Instrumental djent. I think Cloudkicker is a fairly prolific artist in that vein.
Anybody know the tuning for the riff?
