In these video tutorials, I normally use Bakels Premixes to save on time.

Does not using sugar syrup to soak the sponge make the dry to eat in the cake ?
Perfect marble! I struggle with fondant here in North Queensland. Always seem to get big air bubble blow outs around bottom edge. Any tips?
hey hun, thanks for the comment :) this usually happens when there is air trapped in the cake. while you fill the layers of the cake, sometimes you might miss some spaces, and this can trap in air. It might also happen if the buttercream is too soft. have you tried vegetable shortening as a base for the frosting?

Why does the fondant look purple to me?
some blacks will have a purple tinge unfortunately. You are seeing correctly though!

Please stop using plastic straws. Google 'turtle and straw' to see for yourself what these can do to unsuspecting wildlife. There are other options please encourage others to use them.
