Really love how this does capture the Bethesda game experience of walking in a direction, getting distracted by something happening to the side, going and helping out, then getting a reward that can feed back into the core gameplay loop you return to. Great work on this!
Or walking in a direction and seeing a giant building off to the side and you decide to go exploring. That exploration turns into a nightmare as you realize there's no light whatsoever in the building and it's pitch black. You walk forward and end up kicking a bucket down a hole in the floor by accident and you can only make out faint glowing things moving around at the bottom of the hole. You try to find the exit but because it's so dark you end up getting lost. Terror turns in anxiety as you're running through the building being chased by ghosts only to end up in some ritualistic hellhole where the only thing feeding back into the core game-play is fear. Fuck the Dunwich building! I didn't even know the pipboy had a flashlight until much later. There is nothing scarier then trying to leave a building but the game keeps telling you, "you can't fast travel while in a building, hurp derp." I was also playing it on an old CRT TV which only made it worse. This was the first time seeing glowing ghouls as well. > _ < So yeah, I really really hope this game captures that classic Bethesda game experience. I can see it now, there will be a derelict space craft out in space that has nothing to do with any main missions. The player enters the ship looking for loot only to find that there's nothing of value anywhere to be seen. The player attempts to leave the ship only to find out that the layout has changed and the map is telling him the exit is on the other side of the ship now. They make it to the other end of the ship and leave. However the loading screen is no longer for Starfield and it's the loading screen for Fallout 3: "Now entering the Dunwich building..." *cries in the fetal position* 😭😱

Bethesda is really knocking it out the park with these promotions. Game looks amazing, and I'm so glad that Todd has also been honest about the games limitations.
This has nothing to do with the game. Just pointless marketing as usual instead of putting the resources into ensuring that series X had a VRR 60 fps option at launch. It needs to be 60 at the very least in space flight/combat and in the menus anyway. There is no excuse for it not to be. 30 can be for the massive ground based locations but locking the entire game to 30 with no VRR support in 2023 from a AAA first party studio is idiotic and senseless It’s just that it renders the series X useless as a next Gen console and proves Xbox have no faith in their own hardware and lied that the standard for this Gen would be 60 fps with up to 120 fps options. We have all seen what Unreal Engine 5 is capable of now even from just single people mucking about with it. Yet their game engine is so old it creaks yet will only be 30 fps on the worlds most powerful console? The even crazier thing is you don’t need a super powerful PC for 60 fps either.
@DEVILTAZ35 Don't know if you know this, but the marketing department and people in charge of making this stuff have nothing to do with optimization for 60FPS. It's really not pointless marketing as you can tell by the millions of views on each video, you just seem bitter Also, switching from 60FPS to 30 when going from space to land would suck. I would much rather have a consistent experience. And considering how intensive Bethesda games are on the CPU, I don't see the problem here.
