This conversation happens in a friend run with Astarion after meeting Araj the drow in Act II. In this video, there are two versions with all dialogue options: if you defended him from the drow and if you let him bite her from 05:00. The dialogues have some repeating parts. which I highlighted in the video. In the end, I added some free cam insights since he has many lovely movements which are worth seeing, like 09:13 and especially at 09:18 where you should look at his left hand ^.^
No matter if lover or friend Astarion, i never had him bite Araj. I mean, he’s always your companion. So after he says something is wrong with her blood, your character doesn’t know what it is. He could just throw up or it could kill him. None of my characters would have risked it, so Araj always got a No ^^
I hope it’s clear that many things are triggered in this channel’s videos for educational purposes, in order to hear the lines and outcomes, above all the ascension. And I think it is natural for a person not to force another to do what they don’t want to do, whether lover, friend or enemy ^.^
This is so sad to see. How he sees himself. What he has gone through and learned the last 200 years. 😭 I can´t even try to understand how he must have felt when he was forced to drink from her. The hand movement send me shivers down the spine. There is so much we can´t see in the normal camera angel, which is such a pity, because if we could see his body movement and especially his hands more often we could already see in act 1 how he feels and what he is pretendening and what is genuine. When you hear him say "It's degrading that people like her fall for it." and then when you are at the palace and ask him about the servants where he says roughly the same thing and then think about the degrading-check when he makes you his spawn.... well, it´s obvious what he thinks about you when he turns you...poor Tav/Durge who thinks he loves and cherishes you still... "Charm is just another spell we cast"- gosh, give that man a big hug, tuck him in a cozy blanket, put him on a sofa with a goblet full of blood and tell him that everything will be good from now on...😢 Thank you for showing the friend route, it gives even more insight knowledge of his soul.
Thank you for sharing your perspective^^ Yes, it’s heartbreaking to see how he perceives himself due to what he’s endured over the centuries, but also encouraging to see his development and new self-recognition^^ The fixed camera really gives little insight into body language, even though the moves were mocapped, so I try my best to record more of these details for my edits. Generally, it’s pretty obvious that Ascended Astarion sees Tav as a degraded person, and noone can feel 'love' for someone who has fallen in their eyes. However, I can imagine that AA, even if the original person is literally destroyed, could genuinely fall in love someday and maybe even gain a part of himself back thanks to these feelings-with someone who has nothing to do with his whole past, someone inspiring for him^^ I’m glad myself that I did the friends run ^^ It’s really insightful, even if there are fewer dialogues. and it’s actually a pity that there’s no opportunity to romance him after the Cazador dungeon because this route feels more natural to me-something I could imagine irl: a development in the relationship, growing trust, and then possibility to get closer. But well, it is what it is; we can still imagine whatever we want ^.^

There are no facts, the things every AA lover spreads who thinks spawn is a "bride" are made up. Just look at the game itself: you get the same skills that Astarion had before he became AA, you can´t turn into mist, like a real Vampire (Cazador did that during the fight, remember??) you can´t turn into a bat, your bite is as weak as UA´s is. Then the degrading sentence: how on earth is it possible to understand this sentence wrong? Only people who search deliberately for an explanation to explain their wrong thesis that he will make you to a full Vampire can come up with such a twisted logic. Then people who deliberately want their bride theory to fit say he bites you three times: no, it is just three bites if you ask him to be tender, apart from that he just bites you twice. I could go on but I think that you don´t want to listen because you think you are right and AA "loves" you and is such a strong and good "husband" and can provide you with such a nice life in a palace (where he was tortured for 200 years, if that doesn't show how twisted he is, I don´t know). I don't think my arguments will get through to you, since you've found facts that support your fantasy, so it's actually pointless that I've written so much. it's just a shame that such misinformation creates a false image of AA that has nothing to do with the game anymore.

Astarion saying that it won´t hurt is in stark contrast to what the narrator says about the process, that it really and truly kills you and your soul disappears and that it hurts.(it´s all there, you just have to listen!) This is something that is in all the rules/lore, that the person is killed and loses their soul when they become a vampire. Spawns still have part of their soul because they are not yet a real vampire, but that is something not everyone is sure of. Larian made their own "lore" here. Your explanation of your "fantastical sense" shows me that you can´t even read and have no understanding of the subtleties of a text. I was making a joke of you for being "creative and imaginative". I'm honestly not sure , but logically yes, since if one let him ascend means to him , his seducing plan worked on this person
Yes. When you let him ascend, you validate all of the lessons Cazador taught him.

Generally, it’s pretty obvious that Ascended Astarion sees Tav as a degraded person, and noone can feel 'love' for someone who has fallen in their eyes. There are no facts, the things every AA lover spreads who thinks spawn is a "bride" are made up.
