    My previous fake nail tutorial video: • DIY: EASY Fake Nails T...
    ♡ M A T E R I A L S ♡
    Fake nails: Unpainted and uncut - shown in video. These are longer and can be customized to the shape and length that you like. amzn.to/2g3Eewy
    Pre-shaped nails: These are my favorite medium length oval nails and what I typically wear. I find these look the most natural on the nails. amzn.to/2eUX3iT
    Nail glue: amzn.to/2g3Fekw
    100 grit nail file: amzn.to/2g3Lx7A
    Wooden cuticle sticks for removal: amzn.to/2g3JKiQ
    ♡ M E T H O D ♡
    1) Start with COMPLETELY dry nails.
    2) Push down cuticles (optional).
    3) File nails with 100 grit nail file. The more you file, the longer the nails will last - as shown in this tutorial, I do about 7-10 passes per nail going in the same direction and they last for 3 weeks. If you want to minimize nail damage file them less, but they will not last as long.
    4) Use a NEW bottle of nail glue - I like the kiss brand nail glue.
    5) Apply glue to BOTH the back of the fake nail and to your nail bed. Use a good amount of glue but not so much that it overflows out the side of the nail.
    6) Hold tightly for 30 full seconds per nail.
    7) Avoid getting nails wet for several hours. It’s best to do this at night and allow them to dry overnight.
    Let me know if you have any other questions about my fake nails method in the comments! I have been doing this method for almost 2 years now I love it and it saves me so much time and money vs going to the nail salon!!

    Yes so happy to see a new nails video. I was one of the people who requested more. Been obsessed with nails since I was a young girl. Thanks for sharing more ideas. I swear once my second son is born and grown I will get back into the nail game. I realized I don't have the time to get them done or do them myself and plus its hard to handle a baby with nails especially if they are long. You don't want to scratch them.😉

    Great Video! I use chop sticks and a little bit of hot glue to pre paint my nails. Just don't apply the nails to the chop stick until the hot glue has cooled about 15 seconds. When the nails are dry they are so easy to pop right off and ready to glue on your own nails.💅

  • @NaturallyAmber

    I find that they stick better if you take a thumb tac and scratch a # pattern on the inside of the plastic nail. Then use a q-tip with nail polish remover to remove any dirt/dust from the inside of the plastic nail, as well as your own nail before glueing. I put the glue on my real nail and press the plastic one from my cuticles up to the tip. I made a video on this also.

You are so considerate, that you already have a giveaway put together, that is so nice to do that, so I'm looking forward to it!!
    P.S. You should totally do a meet and greet but, I guess it'll be some time until that happens thanks to baby boy, whom I AM SOO EXCITED FOR! I feel like i'm part of yours and Ryan's family so thanks for including us too!!

    Its funny you did this video today. I literally did this last night on myself. I normally do gel nails on myself at home, but I was not feeling up to the wait time of curing the gel and everything so I went ahead and did basically exactly what you said in this video, except I glued the nails first and then painted them while on my fingers.
    I have a big problem with nails lifting so we shall see if these last longer than my usual gels!

    Just thought that I would mention, when I apply my fake nails (kiss from Walmart) I apply about 3 coats of strengthening nail Polish let it dry for 2 hours and I buffer that instead and let that dry for about 2 hours again and then do the glue and fake nails. Also, I was already doing the qtip thing so high five for great minds thinking alike! Only, I cut mine in half to save qtips :)

    hi Brittany. you only need to remove the "shine" from the natural nail make dure you have no dead cuticle on the nail them lighly remove the shine. dust of and your ready to go with minimal damage to your natural nail 😊😊

      @vasseurbeauty  7 років тому +4

      I have found that when I just do that and lightly file the nails pop off easily. Like I said in the video, file only as much as you feel comfortable! this is just my experience and the method that works for me!

    • @shannonprofessionalaesthet4723
      @shannonprofessionalaesthet4723 5 років тому

      True but they don't last as long. Yes. This method makes nails techs cringe BUT even with me having access to the beauty industry and trade with others I will use this method because I can be home and they WILL last more than a week. I'm a mom, I work, I cook, I clean and bake regularly. Also using vinal gloves or dish gloves for cleaning and avoiding water etc helps!

    Love your videos!! You're so helpful and practical! I tried your nail method once before and it does work very well. One question I have is when I wash my hair...after the first few days, when I wash my hair the hairs will get stuck by the cuticle. Do you have any recommendations for this? Thank you!!

  • @Hbh250
    @Hbh250 8 років тому +5

    I always either take mine off my popping them off like you said, or by soaking the edges with olive oil- it somehow loosens the glue a little. Also the oil doesn't affect the nails much at all and after my nails don't feel nearly as damaged after! I would recommend that method. You could even use cuticle oil!

    Best way to remove a fake nail is to use one of the big unused thumb nails that are so big no one could ever use them and wiggle it in under the edge and just wiggle it between the natural nail and the fake nail and it should pop off with very little not no damage to the natural nail.

    sorry my question has nothing to do with the video! what brand of eye liner do you use? I always have trouble keeping eye liner on my water line.

    Use poster putty! Instead of continually rolling and cutting tape

    You should look into the toxic chemicals these glues have along with nail polish... A good one i like to use is Zoya.... I stopped using toxic chemicals a year ago and Ive noticed a difference with cleaning solutions especially. A great documentary to watch is The Human Experiment, I believe its still available on Netflix.
    Happy Holidays, love your content!

    I never wear fake nails because I have naturally long nail beds and my nails grow quickly and long. I have always wanted to try them though. Maybe I will for Christmas.....

    Hi I love your videos & find them really helpful. I wonder if you would do a pedicure video? I think painting and cuticle care is a no brainer but cutting the wrong shape can result in pain for a while. I am also interested to know if you have researched the nail products / other products you use on the EWG skin deep database for toxicity levels especially as a Mom. And if so, what the best non-toxic products are in your opinion for personal care and cleaning. I just tend to go to Whole Foods so I don't have to spend the time to research but I would be open to learning about new ones if you knew of them. Keep up the great work and I hope your channel doesn't become only for Moms and kids because I really like your videos and am not a mom! 😊👏🏽💐

    They way I do it when I'm not in the mood for gels or acrylics is by using a toothpick and eyelash glue! That way you don't ruin the nail of you add too much nail glue!

    Remember when you are going to give birth, to not to have nailpolish or fake nails on so that they can check your capillary fill and oxygen saturation. 😘 (I'm not certain with the correct terms 😶) With love from Finland! ❤

    I actually took a frame from dollar tree and glued ten command hooks to it. Then attach double side tape to the command hooks so I can press all ten nails on at a time paint them all and leave them dry overnight. Then next time around the frame I created is reusable for me to always paint my nails on! The nail videos on my channel have been my most watched as well!
