Ok you made this look so easy. I can’t for the life of me get this thing to budge. I’m using the solder but it just forms blobs and doesn’t loosen up. I’m probably cooking the board to death, any pointers on what I’m doing wrong? Do I need to apply some extra flux along with the solder?

Ok I didn’t notice before that you were using a heat gun to remove the port. I don’t have a small one like the one you are using, just the big kind used for things like stripping paint. I used it very carefully and eventually got the thing to come off (I did rip one of those central pads off in the process, though). I put the new port in and used solder paste to hook it all up, and much to my surprise, it worked when I plugged it in! I thought the heat would destroy it, but the repair was a success! Thanks for posting this video; it saved me some money.

I have a late model Samsung Tab. Don’t know which one but it has an extremely thin bezel on the LCD. I have a thin blade tool but this is a couple mm thick. Suggestions about taking it apart? There is no visible gap between the lcd and the case. Very tight.

What is the temperature of your heat gun while removing the charging port?
And do you use a high airflow or low?

So how much does it cost for you to do it? The part is cheap but I don't know how to do this type of soldering.

OK. I recently bought a SM-T580 with broken LCD and Touchscreen, that's easy to repair. On opening the Tab, the plastic retaining clamp for LCD socket is broken, I'm having problems sourcing a new socket, any suggestions where I can buy a couple. Samsung Germany is not very helpful, they only want to sell me a new machine not help me repair a busted one.

Can you explain to me what that liquid is around the solder that allows you to easily apply the order without mess?
Samsung is stupid to solder these parts to the board.

Nice clean job on solder. Was asked by friend if I can repair his, but not sure if I have all the materials available still. Don’t want to spend $$ to pass on to him. I do this as leisure
Haven’t been able to find the ports. Can u provide link? (Forgive if posted and I don’t see it)
    Great vid as always

Why don’t you put solder in midDle pad? It makes the connector more ridged
