I do not miss having to harvest the lead out of the rubber nugget bullet traps when I worked at a local range. The guy without a mask will have elevated lead levels in his blood for sure!
There was a recent news story about a local gun range releasing lead into the air and poisoning nearby residents. They trained police there, and all of their lead levels were dangerously high.
That "cool" guy standing there without a respirator is an absolute beast.. Think of all the lead he's gonna be able to get by coughing up his lungs and shaking out his clothes. Good thing lead really sticks to your insides. He can take that stuff home with him for his wife and kids too.
Scrapers or companies that recycle it. Lead is going for about $3lb right now and if you cast your own bullets, range scrap already has the right mix of lead/tin/antimony for your bullets.
All gun ranges have a collection of lead and brass at the end of the range from spent ammunition. This machine is sorting the metal from the rubber pellets. The machine is being loaded by one of our battery powered skid steers.
@@joem7572 The way they are geared up you would think so. It's lead guys....not uranium or plutonium! A simple respirator and some gloves would suffice!

It's looks like a blueberry separator, it uses airflow to separate the lighter plastic from the heavier lead/brass.

Lot of LED I go to the range a lot I might have brass catch but yeah 👍😉 at least I kept my brass cleaned up,😆🤣😂

Morgan Freeman Lol lead is not magnetic, and most indoor ranges won't let you use any round with steel in it.
You need a special lead and copper magnet.

Cleaning gun range. Nice but worthless. Should have also shown how your separating and how clean was what was getting thrown back.
