Looks a great piece of kit Lindsay. I have seen Barry Ord Clarke glue fly tying foam into the Petitjean clip to hold materials better. I have neither, so can’t comment on how successful it is though he seems to swear by the upgrade.
Hi Lindsay, I too used bulldog clips (wasn't anything else 40 years when I was a ten year old starting tying) and the plastic clip system …. I don't think this items cost is that bad for something that is so well made and that will last for yonks. I think I will give it a try. Atb Jim
Hi Lindsey, new Subscriber here. I bought the Petiejean tool system when they first came out. They were a lot of money at the time, but you got a lot of tools, clamps the material board to name a couple. Recently I spotted the Swiss Multi Clamp, which is less bulky does the same job. Have you tried the Swiss Multi clamp? I am curious as to what a comparison would say. Your Robo Clip appears to be made by Vosselar, I had one of their amazing vises once. One of the best vises not made anymore. Thank you for this.
Hi Kerry, The tool in this review is made by Troutline.ro but it is almost identical to the Vosselar tool. I have not seen the Swiss Multi Clamp so can't comment. I have had the Petitjean tool for many years but because it is plastic there are chips in the jaws and they are not as good. I will check out the Swiss Tool though I love a new tying tool ;-).

It is a solid tool.
They look really good, I just got a load of hooks and tying materials so if I got myself them too it'll be the couch for me!!.

I'm just working my way thru your videos so be prepared for the odd daft question Lindsay!.

I have used the Petitjean tool for years but it is a little battered now. I can see the Robo Clip taking its place no problem.

Agreed Jim, I used to use the Petijean clips but they are goosed now.
