Yes about a week back. If you are planning to go in next few days & don't have prior snow driving experience then do ask locals there before going in XUV 500 else by June second half you can go I believe as snow would be significantly less.

I think this is going to be a 10 km long tunnel. Not an easy project but it will cut time from Darcha to Shinku La from the current 3 hours to about 75 mins . And it will be open all 12 months
I am also excited about the Machhail - Zanskar tunnel and road project. That pass is also about 16000 feet and even more treacherous than Shinku La

Thanks for sharing info about Machhail Zanskar tunnel 👍. The Shinkula tunnel though is going to be about 4.5 km, it was earlier conceived to be around 10 km but now after reassessment 4.5 km is going to be the approx length.

@@travellingplaces if it's 4.5 kms, I hope they complete it much quicker than the Atal Tunnel. That took 25 years. I didn't see any BRO installations in your video though.

Ya hope so. Thats true, I haven't seen any markers of the tunnel construction myself like one can see it enroute Zojila for e.g. which is likely going to be India's longest road tunnel.
