    Hello Dan. You deserve an apology from the Accurascale employee who laughed at your question. Not only were you a serious modeller asking a reasonable question, you're also a CUSTOMER!
    Hope you continue with your reviews. There aren't that many good quality reviewers on UA-cam.

    Thanks for your comparison Dan, I have a mix of both and think they are fine models. Colour comparison is not an issue as I have KMS weathered which are well grimy!

    regarding the 'wheelarches' from a cursory view from the video it looks like the internal slope of the hopper is different from the cavalex, and this looks like the reason an arch is needed

    • @outonroad
      @outonroad Рік тому +1

      That isn't the reason. The slopes are the same as per the prototype. We (Cavalex) simply designed the way the bottom of the hopper goes together, differently, so voids the need for the arches to be present.

    I guess does having a slight edge justify the significant price difference? I guess we can agree that both are probably better than the anciently tooled Hornby offering.

    Hi there how can theyy laugh at you, that's very unprofessional of Accurascale. Modelers ask questions based on their concerns and since they/we are paying for manufacturers models so they have to take any questions seriously. Im not overly particular about detail on HAA hoppers because a 30 plus train isn't cheap and when the train is running its hard to see the finer details...?..but that's only my opinion. Everett Junction did a video on making a set of HAA hoppers using the Hornby versions and they look pretty darn good, so that's a project for me. A good review and an interesting one too. Well done 👏. Merry Christmas 🎅

    I’ll have to stick with my rakes of hornby HAAs for now Dan I have over 40 it would cost me a grand to replace them with these but they do look nice mate

    Excellent video - very surprised that AS have made such mistakes. They are out of era for me but still of great interest as products get ‘ better’ but far more expensive 😎

    As the wheels are OO, you have two options - tiny wheel arches in the hopper like accurascale, or like cavalex raise the floor to hide the arches (confirmed by cavalex on RMweb). At the end of the day, all models have some compromises. Re the 'laugh' I assume you mean a laugh emoticon? Perhaps your post looked like a joke, as the arches are almost invisible? If anything you are coming across as having a bit of an axe to grind? Ultimately the accurascale model has more printing (builders plates etc) and all the rivets and details and fine underframe of the real one, for £22 in a bundle.

    • @dansmodelrailways7886
      @dansmodelrailways7886  Рік тому

      No axe to grind at all. The wagons were reviewed side by side. The flaws were highlighted as they are. The wheel arches are not ‘almost invisible’. They are Very noticeable when looking into the hoppers, the colours are very bright too, and could do with being more subtle. Having reread the statement it cannot be seen as a ‘joke’ in any sense. As seen i measured the wheels, floor depth etc and the two models are almost identical. The track gauge excuse just doesn’t wash. I stand by the review and look forward to reviewing forthcoming items like the 92 and 31 which are much anticipated.

      @@dansmodelrailways7886 Hi Dan, if you check the hopper depth, you will see one is deeper than the other - which is how you can see the floor has been artificially raised to hide the wheel arches. As for colours, the models are provided 'as new' and clean, so the colours of course will look clean and bright.

    • @outonroad
      @outonroad Рік тому +1

      @@mccarronfamily Let's make this clear Stephen before any false statements are made regarding our wagon on this, the Accurascale hopper depth is also artificially high due to the fact that you cannot mould a scale 5mm thick body panel under the hopper so it has to be, it's just that the hopper depth is slightly lower than our wagon. Moving this level up slightly as we did is, in our opinion, and I would imagine any modeller that wants something that looks prototypical, a better choice than introducing a detail that doesn't exist on the real wagon at all. On a side note regarding colours, our cradle is colour matched exactly to a clean ex works wagon frame.

    • @mccarronfamily
      @mccarronfamily Рік тому

      @@outonroad No false statements have been made? Just two alternatives to surmount the same issue - either add wheel arches, or add arches and raise the floor to hide them. It's hardly a sticking point really and there are many other solid reasons for either model. Hope no offence was taken as nothing has been said disparaging your lovely model, simply defending the disparaging and completely inaccurate comments posted in the video 'review' :)

      @@mccarronfamily No offence taken, just clarifying the thought processes behind each model so that anyone reading this with no other previous reference are upto speed. As said elsewhere, both are good models and you pays your money and takes your choice on what is important to you feature wise.

    We mentioned something about their boxes once, were asked to delete the messages 😂
    Seems you cant say anything negative about them.
    The guy in your screenshot is the owner/moneybags of accurascale, if you say anything about them he is always there lurking lol

    Hi Dan, I've enjoyed watching your videos, but today you do sound a bit ott. However there's no excuse for you being fobbed off by Accurascale or any other manufacturer for asking a question or giving an opinion. Personally I'd probably accept wheel arches for a model that is £5 cheaper than one without. Honestly I wouldn't pay £25 for a piece of rolling stock no matter how much detail is on it, I just enjoy playing trains. No offence to you intended, keep up the good stuff you put out, all the best, Kevin.

    Sorry dan sounds like your being paid I haven’t got any of these models but I’ve got over 70 wagons by Accurascale no complaints I’ve also got 15 cavalex tankers and the buffers are the most flimsy I’ve ever come across and I cant watch the end of this video

      No i can assure you, and everyone else, i have not received anything. I have done this off my own back. As per UA-cam rules i’d have to declare anything i’d obtained through videos. And Accurascale’s other wagons are extremely good. But this hopper has a bad flaw in the wheel arches

      I definitely wouldn't buy accurascale either. It would be cavalex for me the shape is better and no un needed wheel arches inside the wagon. I have brought accurascale wagons in the past and almost every pack had wagons in kit form inside! There staff need to go on some customer care courses too! When I was a tech for nissan we were taught customers are your future. If you anoy customers you'll loose them and then good bye business. Perhaps I have just had better training than them lot? I also got rid of my pta wagons as the tail lamp didn't even work to add to the list of faults!

      @Sapphire Junction I remember sending a message late one night and got a reply and had a conversation with them.
      Can't fault them.
      This post as I remember was probably down to someone feeling slighted and decided to act petulant
