- Wow, okay so I've had this video idea in my head for a long time! SO here it is, 5 different ways to spend time with your horse out of the saddle! Hope you enjoy! And THUMBS UP if you like this video!

Great tips but I'd add s 6th and 7th:
6. Learn where your horses favourite scratchy bits are. When working with new or a used horses this is excellent for building trust as your helping your horse out with a bit that's hard to reach whilst also getting hands on with your horse.
7. Spend time in your horses stable just being quiet. When I got my first horse 15 years ago she had a lot of trust issues as she's been sold so many times in a short space of time so I would sit in my horses stable usually beside her food that way she would be able to see me and wouldn't feel threatened. Avoid stroking your horse when doing this unless they come to you as you don't want to annoy them. Also be safe when doing this as, hard hat is a must and get out if your horse starts get agitated or aggressive.
I've had my first horse for 15 years and rehomed an abandoned pony last year that would let you even put a headcollar on him, he now follows me like a puppy! Be patient and trust will follow x

I’m doing the same - I used to sit behind his stable door and just chill, now I often sit near where he grazes :) from quite independent and not really interested pony I have now excited boy to see me and spend time together ♥️

On the free lunge, you can always try using a plastic bag to make a play out of it. With a whip, the horse is likely to think it's some kind of training. But when you bring put the plastic bag, it'll be much more fun for the horse. Now this works on my horse and Idk about other horses, but my horse goes crazy and he just really loves it (:

You can also put on a helmet (if you normally ride with one) and sit on the bare back well they graze with a lead rope attached to there halter for control

I have an 8 year old ottb gelding. I try to bathe him in the wash rack since we don't have a hose outside I don't think. Whenever I try to lead him in he throws his head like he will rear up. any advice?

Bath time reminds me that I have to bathe a grey pony for my sister today! Life problems. Thank god I don't have to braid her mane though. I'd suck and be there for hours. Lol
If u braid your horses tail what kind of band do you use
can you do a grooming box tour and washing bucket in one

when u brush her tail twist her tail and start brushing from bottom to the top of the tail it doesn't pull as much hair out and dosent split it so quick
At first I thought the horses legs was covered in mud but that's just it's colour 😍

Normally hose it off. If not, just get in there and brush it!

+HayItsMaya no no no 😁 don't hose it off! It will cause mud fever my friends horse got mud fever from hosing it off! Instead wait for it to dry and use a dandy or mud brush to get the thick bits off then hose it!😉

STUNNING HORSE. I'm 13 have been horse ridding a few years and thinking of moving with my family to a horse ranch and get my own horse. I'm thinking of a Blanket Appaloosa. I love Jumping galloping etc. Any advice?
1. Learn how to spell. 2. Learn that colour and breed isn't important, colour should be the final thing you think about. 3. Get lessons from a qualified, well know instructor. 4. Have someone experienced go with you to look at the horse.

I want a horse really bad and have for years. My backyard is about 1 half of an acre. Would that be ok if I had one in there and took them to a near by pasture daily (I'm homeschooled)?

If you need a whip to do free lunging, I would not do it. Whips are not friendly. The free leading is great. I would add a session of Tellington Ttouches. Horses love it.

Dapple grey isn't a breed, and she is a percheron/thoroughbred
she meant as a colouring she knew the colouring but not the breed

Why would you ever want to cut a horses mane so short?? Other than a health reason specific to that horse, it seems unnatural to me to trim a horses mane. Is there any good reason?

I'm in horse riding lessons so I only get an hour a week but I sometimes get a horse named bottons and he is not a jumper but they still let go over jumps on him and it's really hard any advice not freaking out I live jumping just not on bottons.... Oh and sometimes he trots when I'm not ready? he is still the absolute best horse for a beginner though
If he trots on you when you're not ready (This helps with me) Say easy and squeeze your buttcheeks and pull back on the reins but not to hard just a light pull. Normal;y when he starts trotting when you're not ready is because he is testing you. Hope you find this helped! have a nice day!

I ride a horse that if not the biggest fan of jumps and I literally just when I come to a jump squeeze with my knees and start sort of pushing him with ur knees forward and it really pushes him on and anytime he goes over a jump make a big fuss over him and Pat him alot
