"and this horse actually really likes cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes" hahahahaha
Hi
"All you need is to use the pointy end of the hoof pick" "WOAH WOAH WOAH WHAT?!" Hahaha priceless xD
You are just as ignorant.
Morgan Calvi Yeah they’re probably one of those nine-year-olds who just plays star stable all day and pretend like they know everything about horses
For real, that was funny. 😂
i tried (very gently though) the leg stretch on my 11 year old who always takes half an hour to warm um before the actual work. i did this while grooming him before riding... i already saw the difference in the way he just stood there, it looked more relaxed. he also was better than usual in training. he loves the "carrot stretch" very much as well, and not just because of the carrot...
when you stretch the front legs forward, do not lift them up. try to keep the foot low. lifting it up can cause them to tear some muscle fibers in their pectorals. and the carrot stretches when the horse bends left and right, don't go to the hip. they twist their necks when they go that far defeating the point of the stretch it should be done to the point of the shoulder with some gentle pushing on the neck. I am studying equine therapies. I didn't know this until recently.
+slickndry I was always told to stretch down, so if you were going past the shoulder you would make them move their head towards their belly. Not aware if that causes any difference to the twist on the neck?
+Meredith Morris then a horse reaches around to their hip or belly, they neck twists. less so near the belly. the best alternative if you don't want to do to the shoulder is out away from the horse. hold them still and ask them to stretch in like a 90° angle from their shoulders. and extend their nose out
Okay thanks :) just starting stretches soon with my boy as we are picking up the pace a bit. Or well trying to make him pick up the pace a bit haha. Thought it would be best to make sure I did stretches as from what his previous owner told us he's been in a field for 3 years.
+Meredith Morris good stretching is great. especially if you get a massage done on the horse and maintain it with stretches. people who do their "homework" make my job easier and the horse happier
+slickndry When you stretch the legs I learned yesterday at a equine massage demo to move the front leg in little circles starting a little high then slowly circling down. (I'm not good at explaining) Is that what you mean? I ride a mare and I'm looking into ways I can loosen her muscles up with stretches before I ride. Thanks for any tips. :)
OH MY GOSH THAT ENDING HAD ME LAUGHING!!!
So I found this video maybe a year ago. And found myself watching again because I now own a horse and he is a rescue and has just put on enough weight for me to start streaches and exercising to build muscle and this really helped. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, I'm researching as I go but seems to be working :D
Hello
"All you need is the pointy end of a hoof-pick." LOL
Ikn
No, all YOU need is the pointy end of a hoof pick. Unless I am reading that wrong...it's a pretty mean statement...'lol' or not.
@@morgancalvi6675 Diiiiid you not see the funny silly clips after the credits?
@@finalguenievre I guess not....
I was sold on the video as soon as I heard the Switchfoot song intro in :D
oh my goodness I said the same thing! lol
"Your horse will be more loose and lim...limbererer.....damnit.."

this is the best channel i have ever subscribed to!
Great stretches, fabulous out takes!
Omg! This video has made my day. I love your sense of humor!
Hi
I was so close to a 'thumbs up" during the entire video. The last two stretches with that odd horse, earned my enthusiastic thumbs up. :-)
The bloopers are the best part omg
You guys are so awesome and fantastic! Love the references!
You guys are amazing and funny you have helped me with so many things!
You guys are HILARIOUS!
Love your sense of humour!!!
Love your videos, they are humorous and informative! Will have to try this on the horses at work, seems like something a few of them would love!
Really useful. Thank you. I think my mare really enjoys these stretches.... or the carrots....
I second that idea! Would love to be introduced to all/some of your horses! They're all beautiful.
I look forward to your videos each week, funny and informative - what more could you want?! x
I have just bought an 8 yr old gelding, retired from a treking centre because of pelvic disalignment, these stretches look like they will be useful to improve his topline, Thanks .
Love it! I got 3 new stretches out of this! So excellent! Thank you!
This helped so much! My horses usually get stiff muscles so I always have to stretch them out. I have always done the leg stretches, but I am so glad that I can stretch their muscles around all over. Thank you so much!
Your channel is brilliant , keep it going !
Simone Clari:
You have to use legs and reins,in the trot, walk or gallop.
You slightly pull left sein and press left leg, then you release and do the same on the right side,it should work if your horse have had done that before.
Sorry for my english, i m from slovenia
Love your show!!!!!
Oh how I miss evention tv😭 you guys provided such good info while being hilarious!

Another great video guys. Thanks for all the tips! Can you do an episode on bareback riding with tips and tricks about that! Thanks!
I love your socks!
this horse actually really loves cheeseburgers and chocolate chips. lol all you need is the pointy end of the hoof pick. I almost died!
Great fun with the helpful info!
"This one likes cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes" "all you need, is the pointy end of a hoof pick" 😂😂😂
Holy cow! You really saved the best for last! Such a funny ending! Great video, I learned a lot! :)
Beautiful horse
Glad to see that people are using stretching techniques for their horses. Using "pressure points" on the belly to get the horse to lift their topline as well as using the "pressure points" near the tail to get them to roll their hips is EXCELLENT! I do have concern as to the way you are showing/performing the leg stretches. When you put your body IN FRONT of the horse, you are a setting yourself and your horse up for injury. If your horse spooks (no matter how well you know a horse, they ALL CAN & WILL spook at some point), where do you think they are going to go with you holding their leg in front of them? They are going to leap/run right over the top of you! OUCH! Please use proper body positioning - TO THE SIDE! Use proper body mechanics and use your body as an extension of the horse and extend their leg forward... if you are standing to the side of the horse, if something spooks them... you are MUCH less like to get run over. Same goes for the back legs... if you are standing behind them in the DANGER zone, its GONNA happen! Again, stand to the SIDE of the horse just as you do for grooming, saddling etc. Use your body as an extension of the horse's body and move with them... please dont stand in front of or behind your horse and pull on their legs! Its not going to give you an effect stretch and is just an accident waiting for a place to happen.
Bell well, be safe and love your horse as it loves you!
Evention have a great ep on this... check out some of their earlier vids for it :)
This is really helpful (and hilarious!!) thank you!
This was a great video! Thank you! (And the end, hahaha.)
Started most of these with my pony (he didn't respond to some) and already seen a great improvement! I do them after I ride him when his muscles are still slightly warm! I've found that in the front leg stretch he really stretches out now!!
that horse is so beautiful!! and extremely flexible!
i'll have to try this! i love you both
OK... just saw the very last bit... that was hilarious too! Good to get us laughing and stretching :)
My mare loves the last one!
Very Interessant Video, I have to try
i love you guys!
Shes looking so relaxed
I've done it by running my nails gently down either side of their spine to get them to lower their backs, and then itching around or right behind the girth area to make them lift up through their backs. Usually works and is a bit gentler than the hoof pick method if your horse is sensitive, like mine :)
Super helpful! Oh and that ending had me laughing. Especially the last scene :DD
Love you guys! My old paint mare used to do a lot of these stretches herself, first time she did it when I was watching I was like "WTF?!". You should do a video on horses who get nervous before a jump. My mare loves to jump but some where before I lost she lost her confidence and sometimes get nervous that last stride in.
very helpful thanks
when humans start their exercise, it is advisable to get the body warm and blood, oxygen etc flowing to the muscles before stretching. so in a warm up we do dynamic stretches and cooling down is the best time to do static stretches. does this apply to our horsies too? would it be better to do a nice long walk before a stretch and/or stretching after the ride?
Unlike humans, horses are almost always moving. Dynamic stretches are not needed, IMO. The stretches they show you here are the best ones to do pre-ride. Once you get on, there is a warm-up period before you start actual work.
As for cooling down, there are stretches (down and out to release and relax the back and mind) and a walk to cool out (if hot) is one of them. Personally, hot or not, I always take my horses out for a 10-15 minute (or more) walk after every work session, regardless of how long we worked, or how much work we did.
Awesome!!
❤🐴
Thanks, I will put it on my business page on Facebook for people to see!
You guys are hilarious 😂 love the video BTW 👍👍
❤💋💋💋💋❤
LMBO, that ending, though ;D
I like the intro! :D
The end was hilarious I love this video
Great, I can't wait to use these on my future horse. Is it similar to stretching in humans where you stretch muscles after they have been warmed up for 5-10 minutes and after the workout? or both?
I love the ending " And thats how you stretch a horses lip " Made me laugh so hard!!!!
Thank you so much, really helpful :)
Omg the first shoutout from Ireland I'm in ireland
Love it
lol the end!! i love u guys so much
That was really helpful :)
My horse looooves these :)
thank you so much i have an 18yr polo horse mare she still plays well but getting a little stiff i hope this can help her
LOL the end
Evention my thoroughbred has a hind hoof injury and has been on stall rest for approx a year due to intensity in the injury she did come back into work about 6 years ago but she is still super stiff and is prone to infection in her hoof and particular stretches or treatment you would recommend!! Much appreciated!! :) ;)
omg you guys are so funny!
I love the introduction *------*
Now this is the dairy-are (Sorry don't know how you spell it) all you will need is the pointy end of the hoof pick. Woah woah woah.... (Voice crack) WHAT?!
***** No lol
You can't spell air?
Azaree Lady No, the last part of the video >_
Dairy air!
Azaree Lady Yeah, I guess I did spell it right...
The end lol
Could you possibly make a video on tail and mane care? Or one on how to plait a horses tail or possibly even how to pull and cut a horses mane short???
love you !!!!!!!!!!!!!
❤💋💋💋💋❤
can you do video on what kind of bedding you are using?
LOL THE ENDING XD
my mare loves all the stretches
More videos !!!!
I have concerns about stretching cold muscles and find stretching after a workout with many more stretches than shown here much more beneficial. There are actually4 great stretches per leg that are far more useful, but there are also some skeletal issues that need to be addressed with stretches so they are not done incorrectly.
Nice vid:)
Oh my goodness what do you do with the horse
Where is this place please tell me now 😘
Like it! I try to do more stretching with my horse! Only she hates the belly/ but stretches. Literally ears flat and sometimes even a little kick 😳 so if you have any tips?
Try massaging your hand around her belly/rear, get her used to having you touch her there, and continue to put more pressure there, until eventually you can do the stretch. For the first belly stretch, start slowly inching your hand from his back to his belly. This could take a few minutes to have him/her used to it, an hour or so, or several days.
I swear to god evention tv teaches me more than my parents
Hi
@@irfanmohammed3754 hi
@@jerichoandwinter998 Hello
How many times should I do each of these streches? and how often? :)
The horses tail is amazing!
You guys are hilarious :D
the derriere stretch... all you need is a pointy end of a hoofpick!
woah woah woah WHAT?!?!
