HAWAII FOOD TOUR in Honolulu’s Chinatown - Best Banh Mi, Pho, Manapua, Pork, Duck, Dim Sum, and Boba

- Aloha! Welcome to Chinatown in Honolulu, Hawaii. When Asian traditions blend with the Aloha Spirit. It is the only place on the island of Oahu that makes you feel like you are in South-East Asia!
Chinatown has always been a special place for me because I remember when my dad took me here as a kid. Now, I want to share it with you. In this video, we’re going on a full-day Hawaiian Chinatown food tour in Oahu.
Before I start, please support the Asian community. It’s been a struggle this past year. Small businesses have been on the decline, and hate crimes towards Asians have been on the rise. One of the ways to stop this is to show the beauty of Asian culture and its great shops. That’s the goal in this video. So let’s get it started and go on this food tour!
Any questions you have, leave me a comment, and I’ll be more than happy to reply. But, that’s only if you liked this video and subscribed ☺

You hit everything right on the mark. Nam Fong hands down the best... check out the brisket noodles at Lam's kitchen sometime... and for best custard pie on the island. Lee's bakery. Side note, now I know why you run so much, lol.
Nam Fong was the best. And thanks for the recommendations. Def gonna check out Lams Kitchen and Lee's Bakery for the Custard Pie. And yup, that's why I run. Lol
I don't think roast duck and roast pork are from Southeast Asia. I think it's from Guangzhou China.
Thanks for the knowledge!:)
Can't go wrong with Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, ban mi and pho! Great vid and I see my favorite boxer Mr. Orlando at 0:14.
Yes, Sing Cheong Yuan is soo good. And I watched your video on Orlando and many other food places.. Thanks for the inspiration!:)

Oh Sally, please do explore Chinatown and the servers there appreciate it when someone can speak their language. I know this because my wife speaks fluent Vietnamese. You need to try out “Roast Duck” in Aiea shopping center 2 nd floor right in front when you get off the escalator. They sell out early just after lunchtime. They also have killas fried rice that has a lot of char siu in it. Yum !!!
Mahalo Byron! I heard great things about a certain store in Aiea Shopping Center on the 2nd floor. I'll try it for sure. Thanks for the suggestion🤙❤️

Where is the hot sauce for dim sum? 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Gonna make a Dim Sum video with Hot Sauce!:)👍🤙
Subscribed😁 love the reviews Sean. We are from Australia and travel to Oahu often for holiday. Im glad you mentioned about the homeless and poilce presence in Chinatown..it maybe a bit scary for first timers if you go down the wrong street especially where the bus drops you off from Waikiki 😂 But your reviews are spot on 👍
Aloha Joel!! Mahalo for subscribing and yes, I thought it was important to inform others that come there for the first time. I think overall, Chinatown is safe in the day but no need to go there at night if ppl aren't familiar with the area. I appreciate your words. 🤙👍
Loving your videos! Great job editing. You are so funny...in a good way though ...lol. keep up the great work.
"I have these and you don't" ....lol.

Aloha from Maryland. Thanks for another great vlog, very informative and entertaining too. Wanted to ask, is Fook Lam wheelchair friendly? I travel to Hawaii once a year w/my 90 yr old Mom who is in a wheelchair. I'm going to assume parking for this would be in the Chinatown Cultural Plaza. Mahalo!
Aloha to you in Maryland!:) thanks for watching the video and supporting us!:) and yes, Fook Lam is wheelchair friendly. You can park in the Cultural Plaza Parking Lot and it's wheelchair friendly. It would be against the law if it wasn't. You and your Mom will have a great time there!:)
Thanks so much for the info!!! Included prices and days closed. Our trip is in 197 days!
Thanks so much for watching!! 197 days and counting:) Enjoy Hawaii.

Mahalo for watching! I'll have to try the Pho at Cuu Long also. I'll Def keep that in mind. Sounds like a good idea to try all the Pho in Chinatown.! Aloha!:)

Thanks for sharing👍🤙
I dont know about Hawaii but Dim Sum prices here in California has sky rocketed to $8 to $10 per plate.... I am boycotting Dim Sum
Aloha Dkc! I ate here in Jan 2021 and ever since Feb 2021, prices have skyrocketed with gas and everything else so I'm assuming the prices here are more expensive too. But in Chinatown Honolulu, you'll relatively find the best dim sum for decent prices.🤙😋
This makes me homesick ... and yeah, real Pho comes with a ton of veggies.... I've seen little old Vietnamese ladies eat whole heads of lettuce with their lunch.
Hoping you can come back to Hawaii. And yes, the Pho is really good and healthy. I seen my in laws eat with lots of veggies!:)
good stuff Sean, as soon as interisland opens ill be over, hit u up and hike.
Thank you! Yes.. wanting things to open up already! Def we can go for a hike. Aloha!:)

I'm stick to you or your girlfriend at least when visiting Hawaii...
Do they offer anything else to go with the pork/duck??!
Haha well you can stick to me and I'm sure Nam Fong does but I don't know.🤙
Oh man, big mistake watching this on an empty stomach. Everything looks soooo good.

We are looking forward to visiting Oahu and eating all the things! 😋
Aloha Alicia!! Mahalo for watching and please enjoy all the local foods here on Oahu🤙😋👍
Waited in the line at Nam Fong many times. Never been disappointed.
Aloha Patrick!! Nam Fong is #1 to me. 🤙👍
Just got the roast duck at nam fong. It was juicy and completely flavorless. The I ly flavor it had was when I dunked it unto the sauce. It was a total waste of $20.
Lex, oh no, haven't been at Nam Fongs for a while. They are known for having good food and always a long line. Hope you found other places you liked👍🤙
* I'm On Another Island, Miss That Place !
Hope you able to come back and visit. Aloha!:)
Mahalo! really enjoyed your ramblings around Chinatown. I'm going to try Cuu Long II (I LOVE a good banh mi!) and Pho To Chau on my next visit. My favorite manapua though are the baked ones, esp. the cha siu & kalua pork, at Royal Kitchen - they're the best! Would love to see you visit there if you haven't yet, and hear your opinion - 100 N. Beretania, #175, but the entrance is on River St.
Mahalo for watching Jeff! Best Banh Mi I had was at Cuu Long. And my Mom loves the Royal Kitchen. She always asks me to stop by there when we have a family reunion. I should do a review there! Aloha!🤙
@@SeanKaleponi I look forward to that Sean! Aloha!
You eat a chicken foot and can't get over it, but then you happily eat something that came straight out of a chicken's butt. Life's funny, ain't it? Keep on keepin' on. Thanks!
👍
I agreed, Pho To Chau is the best. Worth every penny.
Pho To Chau is really good!:) I 👍
