That's actually a great way to develop that type of humour, just read the comments section on those type of websites, even certain UA-cam comments. That's how I developed mine, only issue I have is bringing that humour out in real life and using that on new people.

    4. Conan is very humble. The most jokes coming from him are the jokes at his own expence. (Joking about his weird looks or lovable creepiness etc.)
    5. Jokes + drama. He often mixes jokes with his/his character's internal drama. That's what makes his jokes not superficial but sooo freakin tasty and powerful!

True humor takes intelligence. Conan is a brilliant gentleman. Behind it all, he has a beautiful heart. When that business with Jay Leno was going on, he took all the people from his crew on his show at the time with him, but when they were figuring what they were doing, he paid his people with his own money.
He is the finest TV Show host, rather it be a normal show or a talk show. He deserves where he is... unlike many in the industry.

An element of what makes "A tuxedo from the year 3015" funnier than "clothes from the future." is the additional syllables. The additional beats to hammer down the inflection. That's why many times when choosing random number they will use the number "seventeen" because it has many syllables... making it funnier. This is a real thing, pay attention to how often comics use larger words, especially, numbers, when trying to tell a sarcastic or ironic joke.

    Here's a video idea:
I don't know if I am just socially awkward or just an introvert but in group situations I have always had problems with getting my turn of speaking. There seems to be some kind of quiet cues when the next person is about to have a turn to speak. I always end up interrupting someone, then stopping, but the others seem to be able to just chip in without interrupting. That leads to me being "the quiet girl" in those situations. Or - even worse - someone "hands me" the word and I get caught off guard and answer the question awkwardly. No problem in 1-1 conversations when people suddenly find out I have lots to say and that I am not that shy. Enough about me.
Could you do a video breaking down exactly those cues (maybe with good/bad examples) how to know when you can get into the conversation exactly at the right time? Maybe there is some talk show with celebrities you could do an analysis of.

This is all bare bones basic....any remotely funny person at all will do all of these things on a regular basis. Conan is funny because his specificity and "out of context" remarks are not only on point with accuracy but also relatable, relevant, and his delivery is flawless. You can do all of these things but if your references aren't understood or are simply not very good it won't matter. You'll end up like Amy Schumer doubling down on self depreciating humor about your own crotch. Conan has several advantages over most people and he "performs" to get everything out of it. There is a camera, an audience(whether they're there or not) and both him and the person he's talking to know this. Acting like an idiot isn't that funny all the time, however if your buddy is acting like an idiot when there's a camera and thousands of people watching you both, it becomes hilarious because there's so much more at stake. Conan thrives on this pressure, where most people become shy, you'll notice in Conan's remotes that when he starts acting like an idiot people pull away a bit at first, they may take a step back, cover their mouth/part of their face and laugh a bit at him, but watch the end of his remotes, he lures those people in because they know they'll never look as ridiculous as he does infront of the camera and they actually feel quite comfortable with him. It's an incredible gift that he has. Conan is both the Master of talk shows, and remotes by far.

Listen to him make jokes or observations. His personality adjusts to make the joke or line more dry etc. He may sound cold and serious when saying something funny and it gives a contrast that adds to the humor. At least from what I've seen of him. If you watch him in Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza Place he does this a lot. Making him easily the funniest character on the show.

My boyfriend is very witty. I have come to the conclusion that you either have the ability to be witty or you don't. Either you view the world in a slightly askew perspective, or you don't. I will tell you the real trick... for a while I was afraid that my boyfriend was going to sometime say something insensitive to someone thinking he was being humorous. But it has never happened, not once. Sometimes when I think he has gone too far, I look at his audience (a waitress, store clerk, pizza delivery guy, etc.) and I can see by the smile, or sometimes the playful return banter, that he hasn't.

@Heather Watson I have a lifelong pal who is funny. Very quick, slight off-center mind. I have noticed that it is more difficult to get away with some humor in the real world when compared to a comedian performing. The audience has already given the performing comedian license to give them his or her best shot. When he says something that could come close to genuinely insulting the other person, he hits himself with an even more outrageous zinger. Ironically, over the years I have had some of my best heart-to-heart talks with him.

When I was in my late teens & early 20's I was extremely witty. I remember dicking around in online video games over voice, rapidfire just saying random goofy shit (hate the term but these days it would be considered "trolling") & I remember people in-game saying "Yo I've never laughed this hard in awhile" & my friend in the game saying "Dude I can't believe you've been going on for 45 mins" (the reason I was "trolling"- just making him uncomfortable since he was with his fancy college friends- I am a high school buddy). It definitely is a natural talent. I remember in conversation when someone said something my mind would literally rapid-fire search for any available angle/entry point for a joke like a damn Business Line Internet speed Google search. I got a lot of girls at that point.
Unfortunately through the years (I am 32 now) I've been on & off a lot of prescription drugs for antidepressants. I've read that if you are on a steady, long-term regimen of SSRI-class anti-depressants, & then get off them, your brain almost cannot function the same without them. I also just read a health study concluding that 54% of long-term users of anti-depressants reported "Not feeling like themselves." I've been on so many god damn meds I feel like I have half the brain power I did when I was 20. Sorry for this rambling mess, I guess my point is: If someone, or even you, are witty, cherish it, & be careful of anti-depressant medications long-term, especially SSRI's. To feel kinda myself/witty again these days I literally need to get a perfect night's sleep & run like 3 miles, lol. Guess that's a good incentive to exercise.

You could say that the add on jokes also add more specificity to the joke as well. Both his specific comments and add ons, add more detail to the picture, allowing us to actually "see" the joke. I could imagine a tuxedo from 3015 now because of that detail but not if who were to just say future clothes. Vagueness makes it harder for us to visualize what a comedians getting at, and in turn makes it harder to connect with his/her point. So Conan's specific imagery and add ons really help us to connect with him. Awesome job on this video.

The other hosts I noticed needs some sort of references like a socially accepted reality to make something funny and relatable. Conan's gives us his own perspective of funny that's why he 'becomes' funny.
I still don't understand why Jimmy Fallon's YT channel has more than 20 million subscribers and Conan's have almost 1/3.
Conan's production doesn't need to many games for celebrities to be watched over and over. Team Coco only relies on unlimited amounts of creativity and they proved that it's sufficient enough to entertain people for more than 20 years.

Also key, he has the editorial capability to cut out what might come out quickly, but might be offensive or hurtful.

He doesn't make fun of people, he has fun with people. He can make the most boring and obvious routines also into a laugh riot. A great example is his clip with duck dynasty. Such a class comedy it is. Conan is just a great man. He is also a writer which speaks volumes about his observation skills.

Conan is the kind of late comedian I can relate to. He's like Mr. Lucky Charms got somehow air-bombed through the ceiling of a Macy's menswear department and hit every floor on the way down. Only stopped by his hair flip and a cardboard cutout of the Aqua di Gio man. What a standup guy! Always been one of my favorites.

Conan is the barbarian of comedy. Those jokes lopped Obama's head off. He is the strongest comedian of his or perhaps any age.
