A reflection on plastic waste - our consumption and recycling of it. Players should collect their hard plastic waste over 7 days to use within the performance. The hope is that eventually no plastic will be used in the performance.

My opinion? She should have skipped the gimmick. It's not a bad piece, and could easily stand on its own without the "extras." If one has to read a program note to understand what's going on, isn't the purpose sort of defeated? Also, since the composer expresses "the hope that eventually no plastic will be used," won't it seem rather strange if it gets to the point where it's used maybe once or twice during a six-minute piece? Wouldn't that stand out quite oddly?
