You have the right idea! The bicycle is the means of the adventure. The experience is the purpose. It's not how far or how fast, but you see and experience on the way. That said, I hope there are two more robust and reliable rides in your futures! God speed and safe journey
I completely agree :) as long as the wheels spin and they can carry us along. Although saying that this bike did let me down at one point on that front😅 Yes we do have two very sturdy and reliable rides that we'll be riding very soon👀

Thank you so much :) Amazing, how much of the coast did you cycle along? Yes, we give a whole new meaning to slow cycling, we really like to take it slow. But on these bikes, the trip was particularly slow as they are quite battered and not up for heavy loads of long mileage. Thank you!

As Beth said, we did have the new bikes momentarily but they went back for just a few tweaks and we'll be reunited with them again soon. In the meantime, we decided to do a trip on these £50 bikes. @@joshandsarahride I did about 250 miles between Aberystwyth and Llanelli fishing gales and rain along the way! Llanelli to Chepstow next summer to complete my coastal touring of Wales.
Ah, twas the giant CRS 3.0😌 feeling a little nostalgic as it's currently sat unloved in our poly tunnel and I've forsaken it for a nearly 30 year old Dawes hybrid bike. Still good to see practical bikes being put to good use through those tyres are on the skinny side when it comes to non paved surfaces 😲
Ah if it's stored well hopefully it'll still ride well. Yes, as along as it's well made and cared for, they ride well I think :) Yeah this trip confirmed skinny tiers are not for us and our style of riding.

We still eat predominantly plant based, a little while ago we decided to be a bit more relaxed with vegetarianism, with things like eggs in certain situations when knowing where the eggs come from, the treatment of the hens etc, It's just been a decision with food on rare occasions with the planet being the foremost consideration. J's veganism stems mostly from environmentalism and mine is that coupled with animal welfare. I guess as we've travelled we've seen sometimes choices we made to omit animal products may have led to more environmental harm, so it's something we're continuing to navigate and explore. But as I say we eat very predominantly plant based and very occasionally veggie :) As I say it's something we're navigating and learning about so really open to discussion around the topic and it's something we're both pretty passionate about.
Thanks for replying to the vegan questions. 😊 And completely understand your rationale. It's definitely tougher when you're travelling! It's really nice to see people who care about that stuff (it's tough as anyone that says they're vegan is immediately held to higher standards even though they're trying harder than most people 😆)
If you had bought £1000 bikes you still would have fallen off, that rack would still have bent and you would still have had to adjust the brakes or something similar. But you would have had £1900 less to spend on travel! Good film thogh and thanks for posting.
Yes maybe true, you'd hope that a £1,000 would be a little sturdier but I agree that no bike is bomb proof and it's about the experience over having the best kit.

Released from the burden of funding the cost of renting a home, at least £1000/month. I thought why would you want to give up that cottage, now I get why.
It was a lovely little cottage, but it was only temporary as these plans to cycle around the world has been ten years in the making :) There's a big ol' beautiful world out there and we can't wait to see and experience it. And find other idyllic corners of it, just like the one in Cumbria!
@@ronwhite8503 Yeah the rain is pretty relentless. Having spent a summer in the south I am reminded of the stark contrast in climate being only a few hundred miles away. But what this part of the country makes up for in the sun, it lacks in rugged landscapes. Hope the move goes smooth and there' more sunshine for you :)
We will take one each so we can both work at the same time. Not ideal to be taking editing and camera equipment on a world tour, when we're trying to keep our weight down. But when filming is our livelihood and passion, it can't be avoided :)
@@joshandsarahride it good you take one each just in case one fails so you can have backup.. and can still make content .. i tried doing it with MacBook Air max out fully loaded .. but charging was a issue and battery life on the road .. so i switched to iPad Pro 2T a lot lighter and charging is easier and battery life 10 hours .. also bring a iPad mini 6 for back up and if both failed my editing software runs on the iPhone ie lumma fusion i also use 2 tb ssd drive so all my footage is stored on that that way i just plug in to the iPad Pro or mini or phone and edit footage of That. How many ssd hard drives you taking

We sold our old bikes and are awaiting new ones from a bike builders we'll be working with for our big trip. These are just our in between bikes :)

But as I say we eat very predominantly plant based and very occasionally veggie :) As I say it's something we're navigating and learning about so really open to discussion around the topic and it's something we're both pretty passionate about.
Thanks for replying to the vegan questions. 😊 And completely understand your rationale. It's definitely tougher when you're travelling! It's really nice to see people who care about that stuff (it's tough as anyone that says they're vegan is immediately held to higher standards even though they're trying harder than most people 😆)

If you had bought £1000 bikes you still would have fallen off, that rack would still have bent and you would still have had to adjust the brakes or something similar. But you would have had £1900 less to spend on travel! Good film thogh and thanks for posting.
Yes maybe true, you'd hope that a £1,000 would be a little sturdier but I agree that no bike is bomb proof and it's about the experience over having the best kit.

Released from the burden of funding the cost of renting a home, at least £1000/month. I thought why would you want to give up that cottage, now I get why.
The incessant rain in Cumbria is making me move.......I can't wait.

It was a lovely little cottage, but it was only temporary as these plans to cycle around the world has been ten years in the making :) There's a big ol' beautiful world out there and we can't wait to see and experience it. And find other idyllic corners of it, just like the one in Cumbria!
@@ronwhite8503 Yeah the rain is pretty relentless. Having spent a summer in the south I am reminded of the stark contrast in climate being only a few hundred miles away. But what this part of the country makes up for in the sun, it lacks in rugged landscapes. Hope the move goes smooth and there' more sunshine for you :)
How many laptops you going take on your world tour for editing
We will take one each so we can both work at the same time. Not ideal to be taking editing and camera equipment on a world tour, when we're trying to keep our weight down. But when filming is our livelihood and passion, it can't be avoided :)
@@joshandsarahride it good you take one each just in case one fails so you can have backup.. and can still make content .. i tried doing it with MacBook Air max out fully loaded .. but charging was a issue and battery life on the road .. so i switched to iPad Pro 2T a lot lighter and charging is easier and battery life 10 hours .. also bring a iPad mini 6 for back up and if both failed my editing software runs on the iPhone ie lumma fusion i also use 2 tb ssd drive so all my footage is stored on that that way i just plug in to the iPad Pro or mini or phone and edit footage of That. How many ssd hard drives you taking
