My favorite scene! :) Yes, he was weak from the beginning but his story arc was the best in this series. More than the lead character in my opinion. The King did his best to stand up on his own. He was selfless and he only thought about the people. It really showed when Silla farmers robbed them of their gifts to the King of Baekje and stopped the Hwarangs from attacking them and just let them go. He was never greedy even for love. He deserved the devotion of the Hwarangs. Hail to the King!
Not being greedy wasn't the only good quality of the king though. Like I said, he had good character development. Meaning, he eventually became deserving of the throne. And yes, history states he was a good king. haha.
This was, and remains, the most satisfying scene in any K-drama I have watched, EVER. I've watched Hwarang multiple times, but I've watched this one scene MULTIPLE times, and it never fails to inspire.
@@laurastevens8154 yes, it was maybe the saddest moment of the series. I blame his grandfather, with his decision was the reason for boy's tragic death. Yet I was happy that on his deathbed he asked to forgive his elder brother for the attempting murder and killing him as a result.
I almost tear up when this scene came up lol I am so happy he became King Jinheung at the end. Also the fact the in the actual history King Jinheung is known to have been one of the greatest rulers of Silia lol
Just watched couple of weeks ago and the storyline was really exceptional. I was also on the King's side and so happy he ended up being officially crowned. Ep 20 was quite tricky, the writer could make you think somebody else will take the crown.. excellent film! Among the male cast, Hyungsik is really the best fit for the role.😊
Ah ro was an extra character..not at all needed..if they would have focused completely on hwarang then this show definitely achieved milestone 😊😊 hyung-sik ♥️♥️

Back then i watched Queen Seon Deok and saw what King Jinheung did to Silla and hes one of the greatest rulers of Silla. He pass the greatest dreams of the king for the future of Silla that is Unified Silla with King Jinji, King Jinpyeong, Queen Seon Deok the first female ruler of Silla and in her time she start to plan unify Silla, Queen Jindeok, and to King Muyeol where the 3 kingdoms unify. Its good to see Park Hyun Sik play very well as counterpart of Jinheung on his youthful days hehehe
I love how the story goes im happy that sunwoo didnt choose to be a king i think it would be the best for him even though he will become a good one still it suits him more to be the cool sunwoo

I haven’t finished watching this drama on Amazon Prime(now episode 21), but I happened to watch this scene and so impressed with 花郎’s sincerity, courage, and strong friendships! Whenever I saw this scene, I couldn’t help bursting into tears! This story gave me real courage to live strongly.
I loved the fact that the queen was terrified till the last second. She deserved to be scared for her life and throne in those moments cause she didn't trust his son at all. While she was losing the throne step by step, it was Jinheung who was able to rescue the throne with the help of his friends whom he gained with his humble and kind attitude, not with murder and fear like his mother.
