By doing nothing at all apart from lend his name to them... The key was bands wanted to do them... They were virtually live & the BBC engineers & producers may have had learning towards being muso phatheads, but they knew what they were doing (even if some of the bands didn't) & were good at what they did...

Interesting session with Margaret Fiedler and David Callahan swapping lead vocals on tracks which the other sang lead on for the Eva Luna album i.e Fiedler sings the Callahan composition, Mugshot Heroine and Callahan sings the Fiedler composition, Sweetheart etc.
