maybe because Medina was surfing circles around February. What did they expect them to say? "Well done, February, great 1,5 points"? Obviously no, dude... Medina was slaughtering February and the commentators weren't biased, they were realistic.

Medina is a freak! That dude surfs with so much power. His snaps are ridiculously perfect right inside the pocket every-time. He throws more spray than just about anybody on tour. His backhand style is just about the best out there IMO.
biased commentary. Wish wsl would care about unique style as much as they do big turns and 3 to the beach. I would much rather watch Mikey surf all day than watch Medina

Fuck You no it’s the fact that he has no consideration for other surfers. He repeatedly drops in on people in free surfs and offers no remorse. His skill level is insane though. Filipe Toledo, John John, Medina, and Jordy to me are always the standouts.
Fuck You He is not disparging Medina, maybe he prefers another style of surfing, as I do, like Jordy Smith or Joel Parkinson, but that does not take away that Medina is a really skilled surfer.

Don’t let this distract from facts that Mikey is more fun to watch
Mikey can’t contest. He’s trying too hard. If he wants to win contests he has to surf like he’s not in one. He was too frantic, too rushed, trying too many stupid tricks. No one cares about Mikey’s airs. Plenty of other do them a million times better. We don’t care about them either. Airs are lame; they’re for skateboarding. Mikey needs to focus on his surfing and that flow he has that makes his style a brand. Otherwise, he’s wasting his time and ours.
