The Donald Trump origin film, ‘The Apprentice,’ premiered last night in Cannes, and it got an 8-minute standing ovation. Sebastian Stan plays a young Trump, and the film includes some controversial scenes, including one where he rapes his ex-wife Ivana. The Trump campaign has vowed to sue to stop the film. Does this film go too far - and is this election interference?

The rape of Ivana aside, does the movie mention Jessica Leeds, Kristin Anderson, Jill Harth, or Lisa Boyne? Does it show Trump sticking his fingers in the mouths of beauty pageant contestants to "check their teeth" after lining them up and having the union guys turns off the cameras? Does it portray his suing lenders after he defaults? or screwing over contractors? or coaching his parents on how to evade taxes by keeping two sets of books? Does it show him saying anyone who pleads the 5th must be a criminal? Does it show him smacking his son to the floor or pretending his earpiece doesn't work when asked by Pat Buchanan what his favorite authors are? Does it show him calling up _Forbes_ pretending to be someone named "John Barron" to convince the gullible Jonathan Greenberg of Trump's net worth? Does it show Trump's ghost writer?
All good points. Unfortunately, all those things aren't in the movie.
Perhaps they should make a sequel.
