Excellent, thank you! This confirms that I've been doing it correctly, it's so easy - after seeing this, I would suggest to keep the grey acidic hose a tad lower in the sink - they suggest the grey hose should be lower than the unit - to help it drain properly.

I've had my machine for 6 months and need to take it in but due to the pandemic it'll have to wait. My machine needs a deep cleaning it's not making enough bubbles, there's barely any. Awesome man they were charging me for 100$ to deep clean this 501 by the person who introduce us this machine... but I didn’t go for it.... just DYI like u, now my machine is 10 years old and same like new one the alkalinity of the machine. Wonderful you share this video man... God bless you.
It would seem logical that you could use your own machine first to make the tub full of strong acidic water and then add your citric acid powder to that water for the deep clean. My own "off brand" water ionizer did not come with a cleaning cartridge so when I replaced my filter I cut the old one exactly in half with a hacksaw and removed all the charcoal and contents, cleaned up the cut edges and added PVC primer and PVC glue and joined the halves perfectly. It works perfectly for this deep cleaning. When this new ($100) filter needs replacing I will reinstall that hollow one and add a high quality, charcoal ($20) pre-filter that I can change more often without 100+ price tag. The one I had cut in half was a simple, charcoal filled filter with no more content than the water filter used in a fridge.
Is it the same process for the K8? I have the SD501 & just bought a K8 so I want to make sure it's the same process for both machines before I deep clean them. Thanks for sharing such an informative & detailed video.

Why is it when I do exactly what you did, there was no water running out from the top spout on the big white spout, only water running was on the gray (acid) spout. Change 2 different pumps, first 396 g/m, second, 500 g/m. Same result, nothing came out of the white top big spout. Can you please tell me what did I do wrong? Thanks

Gracia jones at least once a year. I Manual clean mine every 2 weeks and deep clean every 3 to 4 months. Depends on how much water you give out and your water quality as well.

If i have to run my water for 9 hrs I could just clean it the way enagic tell me to clean it. you didn't test the pH of the water or you never checked the chlorine levels before you drunk it?. Carl Jackson obviously you didn't pay attention to the entire video... Clean as needed (depending on use) the purpose is to show how to deep clean the machine not test for Ph or chlorine.
