This song gives me chills down my spine. It beckons of another era... one where 9/11 was flashing across the news, Runescape was released, Halo: Combat Evolved evolved gaming- blowing everyone away- AOL was embroiled in pain from the Time Warner deal, and everyone was unsure of the upcoming era. The new era. The information era. At the click of a button or two, people expressed sheer marvel at being able to learn information that would have taken days, possibly weeks to obtain. Nobody knew what would come next- the internet would be a mystery. Total curiosity and pure anxiety. The internet was a absolute wild-west, constantly evolving, and whizzing away at light speed- government legislation would never catch up. In the early 2000's, well, it was a wild ride to say the least.
Well it's 2021. I started playing Uplink a decade ago as a teenager, and loved it so much that I later on bought the full version when I had money for it. But today, I am listening to soundtracks on repeat and especially this song which was the bomb, because I am now a seasoned programmer. While I work away coding deep into the night outside my day job, dark mode and all on Visual Studio, I jam out to this song like so many years ago motivating me to be the hardcore programmer that I became.
dude that’s awesome, i remember playing uplink and always being obsessed with the music and wanting to learn how to code. good luck with the programming :)
I also found this as an Imago Orpheus screamtracker 3 module on what I think was either the amiga music preservation or modland. I think it might be the original :p The artist's name on the file is Karsten Koch.
I still play this on pc and iPad and try speedrunning it for fun occasionally. It’s just that good or simply I’m too nostalgic about the game. Maybe both idk :S

Just Derp and now we live in that future world; a world of kittens, endless political arguments that go nowhere, and porn

Playing this game I used to think this was 3 or 4 songs. It has a great reconnection and flow and love the middle to the end of this song. Thumbs U@P

This is such perfect programming music.
this deserves more views, thanks for posting :)
Kind of makes you wish you were playing the game instead of looking at a stationary image. Great sound quality though.
This game is cheap

I don't think Introversion copyrighted this song, as they usually took tracker music from artists like Skaven.
