True on leather being a better product for repair and aging. However, the process and chemicals used in treating it have their own problems. Especially in the developing countries where environmental and worker regulations are lax.
The worse thing is that they could still be using the original waxed canvas, which is as durable and resistant than plastic coated, waterproof, holds better under use (waxed canvas is more flexible and doesn’t micro tear as easily as plastic coated) and is more eco friendly. Why is it expensive? Well, because of the brand name. You are not buying it for the quality. You are buying it to tell people you have money or simply to pretend you do. The latter makes up the majority.
You know who makes great durable purses with real leather? Consuela .. a patient turned me on to this I spent like $400 on a bag. Spilled red lipstick on it first day having it and it wiped off with a tissue
Fire resistant? Idk about that plastic burns very quick. And leather is actually pretty fire resistant lol. And more durable? In what metric. Saying that doesn't mean or help anyone. I can guarantee you a full grain leather bag is more durable than the LV canvas in many metrics, I recon the only metric it's more durable in is tensile strength which doesn't really matter for a bag.

All mainstream designer have real leather and fake leather. You as the consumer is supposed to pick the one you want and honestly a lot of thne have some good policies so idk if it'll matter since you'll have it for atleast 20 years
I like old school dooney and bourke. They’re super cheap compared to LV and I think they have super cute bags.
for me, i would buy anything i want and liked. can be expensive or not. i dont look at tags or brands. i dont buy things just bcause its "dior" or "hermes". there are shitty designs on designers too.
it's tofu, wiper resistance and more doable
Why is it expensive? Well, because of the brand name. You are not buying it for the quality. You are buying it to tell people you have money or simply to pretend you do. The latter makes up the majority.
You know who makes great durable purses with real leather? Consuela .. a patient turned me on to this I spent like $400 on a bag. Spilled red lipstick on it first day having it and it wiped off with a tissue
This dude really out here simpin for LV lol
Fire resistant? Idk about that plastic burns very quick. And leather is actually pretty fire resistant lol. And more durable? In what metric. Saying that doesn't mean or help anyone. I can guarantee you a full grain leather bag is more durable than the LV canvas in many metrics, I recon the only metric it's more durable in is tensile strength which doesn't really matter for a bag.
And it's the reason why those people are prioritized in every stores even if it's fake or real
I love my Louis bag idc. They need to let me LIVE
Do what makes you happy!! Personally I couldn't align myself with a company who collaborated with Nazis in the 1940s and funded their war efforts. But that don't matter to lots of folks.
@@user-ho9gt3ly6b doesn’t affect me one one bit. I still eat chocolate and drink coffee knowing it’s made with child slavery and wear clothes from underpaid abused women and children in sweatshops. It is what it is and I hope those people the best
He’s like it’s good quality so 1,500$ pls like Jesus that’s why I make my own drip shit crazy!
It’s the same features Walmart childrens bags have. Nothing listed is a bonus. Only good point is the looks.
He says "it's not even leather" but it's not like it being leather would magically make spending that kind of money on a bag worthwhile. It's like when the watch guys try to tell you that complex mechanical watches have more substantial value. The function the solve isn't particularly useful or necessary regardless of the technical skill required to build it.
Plastic coatings on canvas do infact wear out faster than full grain leather. Perhaps you meant they last longer than regular canvas.
Leather is all those things lol
Leather is heavy
I love your content keep going
They are not confused 🫤
It's good for the earth. Reduces for plastic buildup. But the price is too expensive
From a guy whose wearing balenciaga
Also remember LOUIS VUITTON NEVER EVER GOES ON SALE SO IF YOU SEE ONE LESS THEN 1000 bucks it’s FAKE unless it’s coming from a resale site.
The bags cost no more than your average mid tier fast fashion bag to make, but are sold at super up marked prices. You're just paying for the name, and if you don't care for that the bags are essentially worthless.
If you don’t want to buy a luxury brand then don’t buy it, but don’t hate on people who do…
Not all plastic is the same. Not saying that the plastic LV uses is something expensive but it’s certainly not the same plastic as soda bottles
There is one necklace from LV VOLT collection, but they did not even make it with real gold, it is 18K gold and it costs $129,000. I mean, I don’t really care about it, I would still buy it, but they could have made it with real gold at least. But as long as it look goods, I don’t care about the materials
“Why would I waste my money on it” you’re literally wearing a social experiment for a jumper
Am I the only one who watches your shorts for your accent bro?
I dont want a brand's initials all over my bag. Seems so pretentious and braggy.
There are so many bags they made without the flashy logo…
The Triple S has 100% Leather Free on the tag. After all these spills and cleanings, I'm sure I'd rather not have leather.
My question is if its fire resistant how do they burn the over stocked
It is not the fabric it is the name brand, whatever shit they sell will be expensive because they are selling the name not the bag.
So do the bags from target and Walmart
because the market for these luxury items are people who are rich and can afford to spend extra even if they really are just glorified plastic, so when they go out and socialize with people around their circle they have the bragging right of owning a luxury brand, its a status symbol among the who's who
There is no practical based reason when you factor in the huge costs of buying the brand.
And how much was that gaudy hoodie?!
Can people stop putting people down for their interests. Doesn’t matter if you don’t think it’s worth the money other people do because they see value on it it brings them joy I’m sure everyone has their own things that bring them joy that may not have a particular utility to them
It’s not for joy though it’s actually for status towards other people that’s the sad thing. Everyone buys designer to impress people they don’t even know🤷🏻♂️
Majority of people who wear designer are doing it to look good/rich and impress when they don’t even have a pot to piss in. Drive a banger live at home with parents and wear grands worth of clothes😂 so it’s not about putting people down in my view I would rather everyone stop doing it to impress for mental state instead of everyone wearing what you want regardless of price and we would all be happier and actually have money in the bank. Social media reality stars what have started all this silly nonsense.
Nah. This is a legitimate example of what's WRONG with society. This shit is disgusting and I bet the ppl that support buying those shit will try to hop on social media and pretend to support the impoverished and downtrodden. Fuck this.
@@mugz_1437 status or not who cares? Buy what you want and stop judging people. Also, stop watching luxury related videos, problem solve! Stop hating just because you can’t afford it.
@@mugz_1437 that may be your opinion but it can be disagreed with and it is quite rude to assume that people buy things for one reason only. I enjoy the history of such fashion houses and if you don’t that is ok but it is not ok to put down and generalize others
@@treblegames84 So you spend £400 on a t shirt because of the history of the brand?? Majority of big brands make the clothing in the same place as the low brands😅 No history just a designer who have poor people working for peanuts in a factory🙈 know one buys branding for anything else except status now that’s being real. For eg. A Dsquared2 t shirt and no namer t shirt both the same just the the Dsquared2 has it stitched into the top left chest ones £400 and ones £20. How can you say because you like it when it’s the same and I mean same as looks and material🙈.
The men out there who actually have money would understand and know what am saying. It makes me chuckle seeing people rigged out in designer would love to see peoples bank balance😅 there net worth is what they are wearing….🤷🏻♂️
If you have to work a week or two weeks to buy a pair of designer trainers then you need your head testing.
It’s not about the product it’s about the brand
Perceived value is such a funny thing: you buy something for its relevance, social currency, replacement in social hierarchy, quality, etc you name it. You do you but personally luxury goods is the worst way to spend your money.
You didn't explain why it's so expensive, if it uses cheap materials.
Designer is all about the brand....if people are stupid enough to pay for the name and logo. they'll over charge .
Try explaining all the advantages of coated canvas durability to all those whose lv bags cracked, split along zipper lines
Oo my. I thought it did not feel nor looked like leather! Still so expensive
You’re paying for the name. Not the material.
No it’s actually worth that much bc it has the LV on the front. It’s probably only a few hundred without it
I have non luxury brands bags which haven’t weathered at all in decades and are at a fraction of the cost and may I add good looking as well
At this point I'd want him to look at me
Their bags look like something from ross.
Wears Balenciaga
Even with all of the benifits of canvas i would still rather have leather, so much more character imo and just a nicer material in general. But paying extra for what probably isnt even a high quality hide is just stupid 😂
It's all about demand and supply. Once upon a time, real leather was to die for, for it's softness and rarity. Now, it's frown upon and the so-called "vegan leather" is on the rise whereas before, it was looked down on
Compared to finer grand positions such as goyrad canvas (without plastic ) which I also like & own LV ones simply last way longer .. making the durability as added value for such luxury designer goods ..
Same reason why you spent $1000 on a sweatshirt… foh
You're paying for a brand and that's it. I refuse to spend any money of designer products
I ask the same with those very expensive shoes then people cannot even wear them. Ridiculous
